Space available for car, truck, motorcycle show

NEW ULM -- Free space is still available for non-profit and charity organizations interested in promoting their programs in the Starlight Moonlight Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show.

The event will be held underneath the Marktplatz Mall, in German Park and on German Street from 8 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, July 31.

It will include arts, crafts and collectible exhibits in German Park.

Registration and admission is free. Car, truck and motorcycle show registration is 6-8 p.m. Show hours are 8-10 p.m. A swap meet of new and used car, truck and motorcycle parts and merchandise will be held 8 p.m. to midnight. Registration is 5-6 p.m.

Arts, crafts and collectible show registration is 5-6 p.m. Exhibits will be displayed from 8 p.m. to midnight.

A salute to U.S. military troops will take place at 9:45 p.m. in German Park.

Following the salute, cruise participants will be told to start their engines. Those wishing to take part in a six-mile cruise will follow a pace car through New Ulm from 10-11 p.m.

Exhibitors include the Brown County Historical Society, New Ulm Area Foundation and a customized Chevrolet Camaro that is part of the Springfield DARE program. New Ulm Police will promote safety awareness at their booth. Promoter and organizer Ron Baker praised local and area people that have agreed to help put on the event.

"Without all their help, this would not take place. They are the heart and soul of this event, which is going to be incredible," Baker said.
