Wachter, Hanson file for Dist. 88 school board; two-year seat open

NEW ULM -- Steve Wachter and Charles Hanson are the latest to file for the District 88 School Board.

Wachter, the board's incumbent vice chair, and Hanson join Sue Ullery and Tim Babel -- both incumbents -- as the only people to file for open seats as of Friday.

All four candidates have filed for four-year seats, of which there are three. There is also one two-year seat open.

In the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop School District, Otto Hartmann Jr. is the only person who has filed for an open four-year seat.

At Sibley East School District, Jodi Hanson, Mark Brandt and Tom Webster have filed for open School Board seats. Brandt is one of three incumbent to file as of Friday.

The Nicollet School District has no open seats.

The Lafayette Charter School has five three-year seats open, with no filings as of Friday.

The Hanska Charter School, with one two-year seat open, has not yet approved its process for filling the seat.
