Eagles compete at SCC IndoorST. PETER -- The New Ulm High Eagles won five events late Monday night in the Big School Meet at the St. Peter Invitational at Gustavus Adolphus. The Eagle boys won four firsts and Julie Petersen got the only event title for the Eagles on the girls side. No team scores were kept. Peterson won the triple jump with a mark of 31 feet, 8 1-2 inches. On the boys side, Micah Neidecker won the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.6 seconds. Steve Henle won the shot put for the Eagles with a throw of 46 feet, 3 inches. In the long jump, Billy Schreiber went 18 feet, 2 inches for first place. Tanner Miest won the high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 10 inches. New Ulm High took second in the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 9:34 and was third in the sprint medley relay in 4:47.9. The Eagles were second in the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:42.7 and also placed second in the 1,600-meter relay with a time of 3:52.9. Steve Besser was third in the 55-meter high hurdles for the Eagles with a time of 8.7 and teammate Miest was third in 8.8. Kevin Neidecker took third in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.0. In the shotput, Shane Lindemeyer and Matt Schuetzle completed a sweep of the top three places for the Eagles. Lindemeyer was second with a throw of 44 feet, 9 inches and Schuetzle was third with a mark of 43 feet, 4 inches. Jordan Budenski and Kyle Schwartz were second and third, respectively for the Eagles in the 1,600 meters. Budenski had a time of 4:57.9 and Schwartz recorded a time of 5:01.3. Josh Jacobs ran a 56.9 to take second in the 400 meters and Budenski was second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:17.3. Besser (8.5) and Miest (8.6) were third and fourth, respectively in the 55-meter intermediate hurdles. In the 200 meters, Scott Krzmarzick was third with a time of 25.5 and Eric Stock placed fifth in 26.7. New Ulm High placed three in the top five of the triple jump. Miest was second with a jump of 38 feet, 2 inches; Schreiber was third with 37 feet, 2 inches and Josh Zupfer was fifth with a jump of 36 feet, 1 1-2 inches. Zupfer was also fifth in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 6 inches. On the girls side, New Ulm High got seconds from Mary Otis, Leeann Brudelie and Ashley Hauge. The Eagles also finished second in the 800-meter relay with a time of 2:17.7. Otis tied for second in the high jump with a mark of 4 feet, 8 inches. Brudelie was second in the 55-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 9.3 and Hauge was second in the 1,600 meters in a time of 6:10.8. Otis also took thirds in the 55-meter intermediate hurdles (9.4) and 200 meters (29.9), and was also fourth in the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 9.7. Brudilie was third in the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 9.6. Tiffany Drill also earned a third for the Eagles in the shot put with a throw of 30 feet, 6 inches. Amanda Brey picked up a fourth for New Ulm High in the 400 meters with a time of 1:16.2. Christine Otis was fourth in the long jump with a mark of 12 feet, 8 inches and took fifth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 8.1. Peterson also tied for fifth in the 55-meter intermediate hurdles in 9.9.
