BrewersdefeatStarkWin putsrecord at 6-0BY JIM BASTIAN Journal Sports Writer NEW ULM -- Brad Weber went 3-for-4 and Troy Kamm added a three-hit game as the New Ulm Brewers ran their Tomahawk East League mark Sunday to 6-0 with a 9-4 win over Stark. Tony Burt was the winning pitcher for the Brewers, going six innings, fanning three and not allowing a run. Ryan Walters threw 2 2/3 innings and was charged with the four Longhorn runs before Chris Peters retired the final out. Craig Schmitz was tagged with the loss for Stark, giving up eight runs. Weber's four-hit game included a two-run home run, a double and two singles. The Brewers wasted little time in getting to Schmitz. Precisely, three pitches. Troy Kamm belted a 2-0 offering off the fence in right field for a triple before Brad Weber laced Schmitz's first pitch over the fence in left field for a 2-0 lead. Chris Peters' one-out double preceded Dan O'Brien's RBI single to center. Kamm's two-out walk in the second resulted in a single run. Weber's double moved him to third and he scored on Dan Krzmarzick's base hit. The Brewers. who host Redwood Falls Wednesday night, scored another run in the fourth. Jeremy Wieland hit a double and came home on Weber's two-out single. Kamm's lead-off single, stolen base and throwing error moved him to third. Weber's fourth hit of the game made it 6-0. A stolen base, a walk to Krzmarzick and Peters being hit by a pitch loaded the bases. Sacrifice flies by O'Brien and Scott Schaefer moved New Ulm ahead 8-0. Stark, which had its lead-off hitter on in four of the first five innings, saw Brooks Deibele single off Walters to start the inning. A wild pitch moved him to second, but Walters fanned the next three hitters to end the inning. In those first four innings, Burt toughened up as the Longhorns stranded six runners. In the sixth inning, Burt's last inning, Stark left the bases loaded. New Ulm scored a run in the eighth inning for a 9-0 lead. Kamm legged out an infield hit, stole second and took third on an error before scoring on Peters' two-out single. Stark scored four times in the ninth on three, two-out walks by Walters, a three-run double by Deibele and a Scott Mathiowetz bloop single. STARK 000-000-004=4-10-2 BREWERS 310-100-31X=9-15-0
