New Ulm High sends three to Class 2A meetMANKATO -- Juniors Tiffany Drill, LeAnn Brudelie and Steve Henle each finished second in their respective events at the Section 2-2A track meet at Mankato West Wedneday. All three advance to the Class 2A track meet in Blaine June 8-9. Drill took second in the discus with a mark of 35 feet, 4 1-2 inches. Brudelie was second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.48 seconds -- a New Ulm High record. The top two individuals from each event advanced to the state meet. Heidi Gruenhagen was edged out by Drill in the discus. She took third with a mark of 35 feet, 1 inch. Julie Petersen placed fourth in the long jump at 15 feet, 3 1-2 inches. Henle was the only boy to advance to state for the Eagles. He took second in the discus with a mark of 130 feet, 5 inches. Henle narrowly missed advancing in the shot put as well, recording a toss of 47 feet even. Two other Eagles also narrowly missed advancing. Micah Neidecker finished third in the 100-meter hurdles in 11.29. Tanner Miest placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 42 feet, 6 inches. Kyle Schwartz took home two fourth-place finishes, running a 10:03 in the 3200 meters and a 4:39.2 in the 1600 meters. Shane Lindmeyer was just behind Henle's shot put toss with a throw of 46 feet, six inches for fourth. Two relay teams finished fourth. The 400-meter relay of Eric Stock, Billy Schreiber, Scott Krzmarzick and Tom Bergstrom had a time of 45.57. Josh Jacobs, Stock, Josh Zupfer and Krzmarzick were fourth in the 800-meter relay. Krzmarzick was sixth in the 100 meters in 11.48. Miest placed seventh in the 100-meter high hurdles in 15.95. Temmate Steve Besser was eighth in the 300-meter hurdles in 41.95. Jordan Budenski was seventh in the 3,200 meters in 10:19.00 and eighth in the 1,600 meters in 4:41.00.
