NEW ULM -- Shane Kraus went 4-for-4 with a walk and drove in six runs to lead the New Ulm Brewers to a 14-6 win over Lake Crystal Tuesday night in non-conference baseball.

Scott Schaefer was the winning pitcher for the Brewers, now 9-1 on the season, with Tony Burt tossing the final four innings.

Derek Martinson was the starting and losing pitcher for the Lake Crystal Nine, allowing seven runs in 4 2-3 innings of work.

New Ulm hosts Essig tonight in a Tomahawk East League game at 8 p.m., and it will also be "Subway Sub Night."

Evan Jacobs, Chris Peters, Todd Hoffmann and Scott O'Brien each had two hits for the Brewers.

Ryan Dutton and Bryan DeLorenzo both had two hits and each banged out two-run home runs in the four-run Nine fifth inning.

New Ulm took a 5-0 lead after three innings, scoring once in the second on the first of Kraus' singles, this one scoring Hoffmann who had led off the inning with a base hit.

Jacobs' walk to start the third sparked the four-run uprising. Peters' one-out single and a two-out O'Brien base hit made it 2-0. A walk by Martinson to Corey Schaefer loaded the bases for Kraus, who promptly singled in two runs for a 4-0 cushion. Schaefer would later score on a wild pitch.

Kraus' leadoff walk in the fourth would turn into a 6-0 lead. Dave Kunz followed Kraus walk with a free pass. Jacobs' one-out single plated Kraus.

The Nine would score four runs after two were out in the top of the fifth. Eric Spanier walked and Dutton followed with a two-run home run over the fence in right field to cut the lead to 6-2. Kris Brenke reached on an error setting the stage for DeLorenzo, who crushed a Schaefer pitch deep over the right field fence to pull Lake Crystal within 6-4.

The Brewers got one run back in the bottom of the inning on Jacobs' RBI single. Lake Crystal tacked a run on in the top of the sixth, but New Ulm countered with two as O'Brien doubled with two out and Corey Schaefer walked. Kraus brought both of them home with a double to right field.

After Lake Crystal scored in the top of the seventh, the Brewers tacked on four runs in the bottom of the inning when Scott Schaefer scored on an error and two more runs came in on Corey Schaefer's base knock to right. Kraus' fourth hit of the night scored O'Brien before the Brewers added a final run in the eighth on a walk to Bruce Jacobs. He stole second and went to third on a ground out before scoring on a wild pitch.
