MLC womendominateNorth CentralNEW ULM -- Five different players scored and all 23 Knights played as Martin Luther whalloped North Central 5-0 Monday afternoon in women's nonconference soccer. MLC outshot North Central 42-1. The Knights scored three times in the first 20 minutes of the match with MLC's first goal coming with just 44 seconds gone when Rachel Traudt scored unassisted on a breakaway. Amanda Traucht put MLC up 2-0 with a goal in the eighth minute assisted by Katie Mueller. Annie Spier added the Knights third first-half tally about 20 minutes in off an assist by Traudt. Faith Kurbis scored in the 84th minute for the Knights and Andrea Stuebs scored MLC's final goal unassisted on a free kick in the 88th minute. Kurbis' goal was assisted by Lisa Mueller. MLC goalkeeper Beth Ibisch made one save. "We managed the ball well," MLC coach Jack Gronholz said. "The shots on goal we had showed that. And nine corner kicks is an indication we were pushing the ball well." MLC will travel to Concordia (St. Paul) Thursday.
