Area prep football pairings setNEW ULM -- The final season results are in, and the state football sectional playoff pairings are set. All games are set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, except for the Minnesota Valley Lutheran v. Springfield game in Section 3AA, which starts at 4 p.m. at Johnson Field in New Ulm, and the New Ulm Cathedral v. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton game in Section 2A, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at Johnson Field. In Section 2AAAA, 4th-seeded Marshall and 5th seeded New Ulm will play at Southwest State University in Marshall. Mankato West is the top seed in the section and has a bye. #3 Mankato East will host #6 Willmar, and #2 Worthington will host #7 Fairmont. In Section 2A, #1 seed Mankato Loyola hosts #8 Grenada-Huntley-East Chain-ML; #4 McLeod West hosts #5 Sleepy Eye; #3 Sleepy Eye St. Mary's hosts #6 St. Clair, and Cathedral hosts JWP. In Section 3A, #1 seeded Mountain Lake-Butterfield-Odin hosts #8 Red Rock Central; #4 Minneota hosts #5 Fulda, #3 Adrian hosts Russel-Tyler-Ruthton, and #2 Wabasso hosts #7 Lakeview. In Section 3AAA, #1 BOLD hosts #8 Morris, #4 Minnewaska hosts #5 Pipestone; #3 Montevideo hosts #6 Yellow Medicine East, and #2 Redwood Valley hosts #7 Lac Quie Parle Valley. Brackets for Section 3AA, which includes Springfield and Minnesota Valley Lutheran, were not released Thursday.
