Regular Meeting of the Board of Education Independent School District 88 New Ulm, Minnesota
A Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 88, New Ulm, Minnesota, was held on Thursday, February 27, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Annex Administration Building. Members present: Tim Babel, Susan Nierengarten, Sheldon Rieke, Sue Ullery, Steve Wachter, Brian Wieland, and Carol Ackerson. Also present: Superintendent Harold Remme, Business Manager Donna Luhring, and Director of Curriculum/Instruction and Personnel Bill Sprung.
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Ullery at 7:00p.m.
1. Wachter/Babel to approve the consent agenda items as presented. (Unanimous.)
The meeting was declared a legal meeting; approved the agenda, February 13, 2003 minutes, wire transfers totaling $497,206.19, and approved the January 2003 Cash Balance Report, accepted the donations from Paape Companies, Inc. and M.R. Paving & Excavating, Inc.
2. The following students received Student of the Week Certificates: Sheena Stueber, daughter of Jane and Ron Stueber, from the Science Department; Mary Lambrecht, daughter of Donna and Curt Lambrecht, from the Choir Department; and Rachel Kitzberger, daughter of Pam and Vern Kitzberger, from the Family and Consumer Science Department. A short recess was taken to congratulate the students and their parents.
3. The following reports were given: Superintendent's Report by Supt. Remme, Interagency Report by Sheldon Rieke, Staff Development Report by Bill Sprung, Community Ed Advisory Council Report by Supt. Remme, and Announcements by Sue Ullery. Supt. Remme shared a legislative report.
4. Nierengarten/Rieke to approve the quote for retro-commissioning from MEP Associates for Jefferson, Washington, New Ulm Senior High School and the Administration Building for a total of $51,240. (Unanimous.)
5. Wachter/Wieland to approve the 2003 Teacher Seniority List as revised. (Unanimous.)
6. Wieland/Nierengarten to approve the bills for audit for February 28, 2003 in the total amount of $285,215.34 as presented. (Unanimous.)
7. Babel/Wieland to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 p.m. (Unanimous.)
