The New Ulm Public Utilities Commission will receive bids at the City Manager's Office, 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, MN 56073 until 1:00PM Thursday, April 8, 2004 for equipment and services specified herein. All bids shall be directed to the City Manager securely sealed and clearly marked on the exterior: Power Plant Elevator Upgrade. Specifications are on file at the Office of the Chief Engineer, 310 First North Street, New Ulm, MN 56073. Bids will be opened at 1:00PM Thursday, April 8, 2004 in the City Manager's Office. Bids will be considered by the PUC at 7:30PM in the Public Library at 19 North Broadway on Tuesday, April 27, 2004.

New Ulm Public Schools
Summer 2004 Boiler Replacement Project
The New Ulm Public School District #88, New Ulm, Minnesota, will receive sealed bids for the New Ulm Public Schools Summer 2004 Boiler Replacement Project until 2:00p.m. local time on April 12, 2004, in the District Office located at 400 South Payne Street, New Ulm, Minnesota. Bids will be opened at said time and place and read aloud. The project consists of the demolition and replacement of three (3) existing boilers, twenty-three (23) gate valves, three (3) motorized mixing valves, the connection of the boilers to the existing automation systems, which service the Senior High School and Jefferson Elementary School and independent commissionings per Minnesota Department of Health requirements. The Mechanical Contractor with the winning bid will be responsible for all the work (including but no limited to: mechanical, electrical, masonry, core drilling, sheetmetal and accoustical ceilings). The Owner has arranged for a Pre-Bid site visit and conference to be held on March 29, 2004, at 10:00a.m. Bidders shall meet at the New Ulm School District Office located at 400 South Payne Street, New Ulm, Minnesota. The project is expected to begin on or about May 17, 2004, and be completed by September 15, 2004. *All prospective Mechanical Contractors and Commissioning Agents are strongly encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid visit and conference on March 29, 2004. Failure to do so may result in rejected bids at the Owner's and Owner's Representative's discretion. Specifications, including Bid Form and Prints, are available from: Scott McPhee, Institute for Environmental Assessment, 610 North Riverfront Drive, Mankato, MN 56001, (507)345-8818. Specifications and prints will be available at the Pre-Bid visit. There is a non-refundable charge of $50 for each copy of the specification and prints. Please direct all questions or information in writing to Scott McPhee at the address listed above. Bidders shall submit bids on the Bid Form supplied in the Project Manual. No oral, telegraphic or telephonic proposals or modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid a certified check or acceptable bidder's bond payable to New Ulm Public Schools in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond. Bids must be in a sealed envelope clearly marked: "New Ulm Public Schools- Summer 2004 Boiler Replacement Project". If not submitted in person, bids may be mailed, but must be received by the due date and time, to: Scott Hogen, Director of Buildings and Grounds, New Ulm Public Schools, 400 South Payne Street, New Ulm, MN 56073. All prospective Mechanical Contractors and Commissioning Agents are strongly encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid visit and conference on March 29, 2004. Failure to do so may result in rejected bids at the Owner's discretion. If unable to attend, contact IEA via telephone. Bids may not be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the scheduled time of opening bids, without the consent of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid or to reject any or all bids, or parts of such bids, and waive informalities in bidding.

INVITATION FOR PROPOSALS HERMANN STATUE RESTORATION
The City of New Ulm, Minnesota will be receiving proposals
for the restoration of the Hermann Monument Statue. This project
is to include all work necessary for the complete restoration
of the statue. The statue is constructed of riveted and soldered
sheet copper over an armature of pipe and steel beams that is
approximately 33 feet high. A copy of the "Request for Proposals"
is available from the City Manager's Office, 100 North Broadway
in New Ulm. Proposals must be received in the City Manager's Office
no later than 1:30 P.M., May 7, 2004 at which time they will be
publicly opened and read. Award of the bid is anticipated to be
made at the May 18, 2004 meeting of the New Ulm City Council.
