SYNOPSIS OF BOARD MINUTES
September 23, 2003
Members present: Dolan, Glaeser, Anderson-Lowther, Oliver, Rieke and Peterson
Members absent: Yurcek
Advisory members present: Thomas
Advisory members absent: Ness and Hanska Representative
Staff present: Director Wintz and Business Mgr. Rose
Chairperson Dolan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Motion by Oliver, seconded by Rieke to approve the August 26, 2003 Minutes as presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Glaeser, seconded by Anderson-Lowther, to approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried.
Motion by Glaeser, seconded by Rieke to approve the bills paid as listed by the check registers and the September wire payments. Motion carried.
Director Wintz updated the Board on River Bend Programs and Services. Personnel Action:
Motion by Anderson-Lowther, seconded by Peterson to employ Terease Haen as Lunch Aide, effective September 2, 2003. Motion carried. Motion by Glaeser, seconded by Rieke to employ Sally Dannenberg as a .5 ECSE Infant Teacher, effective September 12, 2003 and for the remainder of the 2003-2004 school year, BA Step 6. Motion carried. Motion by Oliver, seconded by Rieke to grant a six week unpaid child care leave to Candie Martinka, to start on or about October 3, 2003. Motion carried. Other: Motion by Rieke, seconded by Peterson to approve the contracting of an educational interpreter to other educational entities. Motion carried. Motion by Peterson, seconded by Rieke to allow MDE to withhold $10.00/child count for State Services for the Blind and test accommodations for children and youth with disabilities. Motion carried.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the River Bend Offices.
