RIVER BEND EDUCATION DISTRICT

SYNOPSIS OF BOARD MINUTES

October 22, 2002

Members present: Glaeser, Anderson-Lowther, Oliver, Wiger and Yurcek

Members absent: Dolan

Advisory members present: Thomas

Advisory members absent: Ness and Ragan

Staff present: Dr. Lewis and Jennifer Rose

Chairperson Glaeser called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Motion by Wiger, seconded by Oliver, to accept the September 24, 2002 minutes as presented. Motion carried.

Motion by Oliver, seconded by Yurcek, to approve the bills paid as listed by the detail check registers and the October wire payments. Motion carried.

Director Lewis updated the Board on River Bend Programs and Services.

Receipt of Funds: Motion by Anderson-Lowther, seconded by Oliver, to receive a check closing out the prior "pop fund" and directing that all future receipts from the pop machine located in the staff break room be entered as miscellaneous revenue into the Education District, and acknowledging that the receipts from the pop machine located in the ALC and from the sale of candy and snacks in the ALC and staff break room are under the control of the ALC Student Council. Motion carried. Personnel Action:

Motion by Yurcek, seconded by Anderson-Lowther, to accept the resignation of Sharon Schwab, Educational Assistant, and Melissa Nachreiner, Educational Assistant. Motion carried. Other: The first reading of proposed Board Policies #101 - Name of the Education District, #103 - Complaints - Students, Employees, Parents, Other Persons, #301 - Education District Administration, #302 - Director, #406- Mandated Reporting of Child Neglect or Physical or Sexual Abuse, and #511 - Interviews of Students by Outside Agencies was held.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. at River Bend Offices.
