NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That default has occurred in the conditions of that certain mortgage dated September 3, 1999 executed by Dale E. will be sold by the sheriff of said county at public auction to the highest bidder on January 13, 2004 at 10:00 A.M., at the main office of the Brown County Sheriff, Brown County Law Enforcement Center, 15 South Washington, New Ulm, Minnesota, to pay the debt then secured by said mortgage and taxes, if any actually paid by the mortgagee, on the premises and the costs and disbursements allowed by law. The time allowed by law for redemption by said mortgagor(s), their personal representatives or assigns is six (6) months from the date of sale.

Regular Meeting

New Ulm, Minnesota

A Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 88, New Ulm, Minnesota, was held on Monday, November 24, 2003 at 7:00p.m. in the Production Lab at New Ulm Senior High School. Members present: Susan Nierengarten, Sheldon Rieke, Sue Ullery, Steve Wachter, Carol Ackerson and Marc Burkhart. Also present: Superintendent Harold Remme, Business Manager Donna Luhring, and Dir. of Curriculum/Instruction/Personnel Bill Sprung. Guest: Bob Qualset. Absent: Brian Wieland.

The meeting was called to order and guests were welcomed by Chairperson Ullery at 7:00p.m.

1. Ackerson/Rieke to approve the consent agenda items as presented. (Unanimous.) The meeting was declared a legal meeting; approved the agenda with removal of Policy 423 Professional Development for adoption; approved the November 13, 2003 minutes; approved wire transfers totaling $793,655.45; approved the October 2003 Cash Balance Report; accepted donations from NU Telecom, Larkspur Market, Dale Mack of Runnings, Tim Babel and Family, Peg VanWyngarden, Pat Simon, Anna Fortwengler, Lucille Simon, Books Are Fun Company, Brian and Allisa Griebel, Dave and Susan Sperstad, Betty Halvorsen, Layton and Dorothy Peters, Ray and Marie Kehren, Norman and Hilda Nelson; accepted the resignations of Matt Moeller and Tina Gleisner; approved the hiring of Brian Roepke, approved the extracurricular contracts for Paul Mleziva and Wendy Tuttle. 2. Nierengarten/Wachter to adopt the 2004-05 calendar as presented. (Unanimous.) 3. Nierengarten/Rieke to approve the Financial Audit for the 2002-03 fiscal year as presented. (Unanimous.) 4. Nierengarten/Wachter to adopt the revised policies: 201-Board of Education Vacancies; P201.1-Board Member Replacement Process; 208-Development, Adoption and Implementation of Policies; 406-Public and Private Personnel Data; 414-Mandated Reporting of Child Neglect or Physical or Sexual Abuse; 415-Mandated Reporting of Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults; 416-Drug and Alcohol Testing/Attachments A-G; 431-Unpaid Leave of Absence, Short-Term Leaves, Disability Leaves; 505-Distribution of Non School-Sponsored Materials on School Premises by Students and Employees; 505R-Regulations for Distribution of Non School-Sponsored Materials on School Premises by Students and Employees; 508-Extended School Year for Certain Students with Individual Education Plans; 512-School-Sponsored Student Publications and Activities (Unanimous.) 5. Nierengarten/Rieke to approve the bills for audit for November 25, 2003 in the total amount of $445,944.09 as presented. (Unanimous.) 6. The following reports were given: Superintendent's Report by Supt. Harold Remme; Negotiations Update by Susan Nierengarten; Community Education Advisory Council Update by Marc Burkhart; Student Committee Report by Steve Wachter, Policy Committee Report by Carol Ackerson, Staff Development and Announcements by Sue Ullery. 7. Wachter/Rieke to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 p.m. (Unanimous.) 8. A closed/taped negotiations strategy session was held following the Board Meeting.
