   Adelia Volz, 95, of Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm and formerly of 622 N. State St., in New Ulm died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
   Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30- 10:30 a.m. at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
   She is survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Justine Palmer of Brainerd, Winifred Brandel, and Eldor and Cal Verna Wilfahrt all of New Ulm, Sylvester and Helen Volz of Minneapolis, and Bob and Jean Volz of Portland, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anton Volz on July 3, 1986; brothers, Asta, Leo, Elmer, and Harley Reinarts; sisters, Ella Tauer, and Hildegard Roesch.
   She was born on Feb. 14, 1904, in Cottonwood Township, Brown County, to Christ and Emma (Waibel) Reinarts. She attended country school in Cottonwood Township. She married Anton Volz on Oct. 17, 1944, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. She worked as a seamstress at New Ulm Wearwell Company and Ochs and Raftis Department stores n New Ulm. She had been a resident of Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm for ten years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Society of America, the Christian Mothers Society, and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.

   Mabel Anderson , 91, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Madelia, with burial in the church cemetery
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia, and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
   She is survived by daughters, Marion and husband, Loren Arndt of Fergus Falls, Ellen and husband Waldon Jacobson of Burnsville, and Elsie and husband Darrell Pace of Madelia; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Anfinson of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Ralph of Madelia, and John and wife Vickie of Madelia.
   She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and sisters, Elna Selland and Ruth Hoeft.
   She was born May 19, 1908, to Bertil and Marie (Nostdahl) Selland in Butternut Valley Township of Blue Earth County. She grew up in Butternut Valley Township, attending rural school. She graduated from Madelia High School in 1927. She married Emil R. Anderson on June 12, 1929, in rural Madelia at the home of her parents in Butternut Township. They farmed near Hanska in Linden Township until 1972, when they retired and moved into Madelia. Emil passed away on Dec. 9, 1986. She had been a resident at Luther Memorial Home since 1997. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and was active in the altar guild, and the Faith LCW.

   Helen A. Blasing, 94, of Mankato and formerly of Lake Crystal, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at Mankato Lutheran Home.
   Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal with burial in Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
   Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
   She is survived by sons and their wives, Keith and Margaret Blasing of New Ulm, Donald and Ann Blasing of Lake Crystal, Paul and Joan Blasing of Eagan; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Jensen of Minneapolis; several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Kenneth and John; and an infant daughter.
   She was born Sept. 13, 1905, to William and Katherine (Heitman) Broderius in Blue Island, Il. She married Lester Biasing on June 5, 1929, in Hector. She taught school at Smith's Mill, did substitute teaching at Lake Crystal and was a past Lake Crystal School Board member. She was a cook at Lake Crystal Health Care Center. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was active in circle, Bible study and other committees.

   Harold Taggatz, 60, died Dec. 29, 1999.
    Services were held today at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City.
   Arrangements were handled by by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.
   He is survived by his wife Maureen; children Jennifer, (Brian) Shoop, Daniel and Michael; mother, Anna; brother, Edgar; sisters, Oda, Ruth, Esther; and two grandchildren.
   He was born on Feb.1, 1939, in Gibbon to Emmanuel and Anna (Schiefebein) Taggatz. He graduated from Gibbon High School and the University of Minnesota. He and received a master's degree in engineering from Purdue. On Aug. 24, 1973, He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the St. Paul district until his retirement in 1998. He worked at the construction division where he oversaw the maintenance and operation of the Looks and Dams on the Mississippi River as well as the Corps' recreation areas. He served on the church council at Chisago Lakes Lutheran Church. He served as chairman of the Chisago Lakes School Board.

   Rosemary Wendinger, 94, of Franklin and formerly of New Ulm and the Fairfax area, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Franklin Healthcare Center.
   Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4- 8 p.m. today at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church. A parish prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in New Ulm.
   She is survived by sons, Edmund Wendinger and his wife Doris of Sleepy Eye, James Wendinger and his wife Phyllis of Fairfax; daughter-in-law, Maryann Wendinger of Sleepy Eye; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; step sister, Dorothy Gephart of New Ulm; and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Eugene; one great-grandchild; and two sisters.
   She was born Oct. 27, 1905, to Felix and Marie (Fast) Rubischko, in Renville County. She grew up on the family farm and moved with her family to New Ulm, where she attended parochial school. She married Henry Wendinger on June 12, 1927, in Fairfax. They farmed in Renville County until retiring in the late 1960s. Her husband died in 1974. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax.
   

   Raymond J. Farniok, Sr., 67, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
   Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington. Parish prayers are 8 p.m. Tuesday at funeral home. The V.F.W. Post 6031 in Arlington will conduct military rites at the funeral.
   He is survived by his wife Vivian Farniok of Arlington; daughters, Rebecca Schuette and special friend Leon Tetzlaff of St. Paul, Betty and Ari Aristides of Medina, Marianne and Dan Steinborn of Kilkenny; sons, Raymond Jr., and Mary Farniok of Arlington, and Bruce and Stephanie Farniok of Bloomington; eight grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law: Mary Motzko, Lorraine Duske and Eleanor and Clinton Pearson, all of Watertown; brothers and sister-in-law, Clarence and Lucille and Edwin and Shirley Farniok, all of Watertown.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; a sister, Evelyn Kruzel; and brothers-in-law, George Motzko, Vernon Duske, and Frank Kruzel.
   He was born on June 10, 1932, in Delano to Michael and Nellie (Cebulla) Farniok. He served in the Army during Korean Conflict from 1951-1954. On Nov. 23, 1960, he married Vivian Johnson in Alabama. He worked as a farm-laborer, a factory employee at Fingerhut Corp, an employee at Arlington Concrete Products of Arlington, and at Big Stone Canning Co. of Arlington. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington and V.F.W. Post No. 6031 in Arlington.

   Clara Madsen, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at her home in Morgan.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Morgan will burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson Funeral Home, Morgan with a prayer service at 7:30 pm, with visitation continuing one hour prior to services at the church.
   Clara is survived by children, Ronald and his wife, Marcella, Albuquerque, N.M., William and his wife, Janet of Morgan, Judy Zamzow, of Minneapolis, Gary and his wife, Linda of Morgan; brother, Irvin Busiahn, Morgan, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon; brothers, Elmer, Ardine, and Raymond; sister, Irene; and two half-sisters, Lily and Anna.
   She was born July 17,1907, in Sioux Agency Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Emil and Augusta (Dallman) Busiahn. She attended rural school in Sioux Agency Township in Yellow Medicine County, and later St. John Lutheran School in Wood Lake. She moved to Redwood Falls in 1934 . She married Weldon Madsen on Jan. 29, 1939, at Sleepy Eye. They moved to a farm in Brookville Township and remained there until 1974. Her husband died March 12, 1974. She then moved to Morgan. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and WELCA.

   Ella Sannwald, 99, of New Ulm, died Jan. 1, 2000, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Ulm.
   Visitation is one hour prior to services at Firle Funeral Home.
   She is survived by nephews, Dr. Howard Korth of New London, Dr. Arthur Aufderheide and his wife Mary of Duluth, Rev. Howard Aufderheide and his wife Rose of San Diego, Calif.; nieces, Doris Aufderheide of New Ulm, Lois Maas and her husband Lester of Sleepy Eye, Doris Ahle of Arizona; many great-nieces and great-nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers; and six sisters.
   She was born June 12, 1901, in New Ulm to Christian and Hermina (Miller) Ahle. She worked for the New Ulm Rural Telephone Company for several years. On July 18, 1925, she married Arthur C. Sannwald. Following her husband's death in 1976, she continued to make her home in New Ulm. She became a resident of Luther Memorial Home in Madelia in 1989. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

   Rev. Henry T. Peter, 69, of 1107 Center Street, New Ulm, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.
   Services are 1 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and continues one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
   He is survived by his wife, Ardyce Peter of New Ulm; daughters and son-in-law, Sarah and Rev. Jonathan Werre of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, Kristin Peter of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in- law, John and Deborah Peter of Three Rivers, Mich., and James and Brenda Peter of Portage, Mich.; six grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Rev. Carl Voss of Watertown, Wis.; sister-in-law, Karen and Fred Day of Lake City; and sisters-in-law, Karl and Alice Peter of Jenera, Ohio, and John and Jennie Peter of Loveland, Ohio.
   He was preceded in death by his parents.
   He was born on April 29, 1930, in Findlay, Ohio to Henry and Anna (Krichbaum) Peter. He graduated from the Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, Mich. in 1948, from Northwestern College in Watertown, Wis. in 1952 and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wis., in 1956. He married Ardyce Bening on July 2, 1961, at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winona. He served on the staff of the Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisc. He served the dual parishes of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Waterloo, Wis., and Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Marshall, Wis., and later he served at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sodus, Mich. He helped lay the groundwork for Michigan Lutheran High School in St. Joseph, Mich., and later served as the chairman of the school's board of regents. He retired from the ministry in January of 1987. He was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. He was on the Michigan District Board for Parish Education of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. He was also a member of the Synod's commission on inter-church relations.

   Elsie Kokesch, 93, of Sleepy Eye Care Center and formerly of the St. George area died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
   Arrangements are pending with the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.

   Kathryn Neveln , 45, of 406 16th South, New Ulm, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at the Vencor Hospital in Golden Valley.
