Lueck, 86, of Lafayette, MN, died Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Lutheran Church in Lafayette. Interment will take place at a later date, in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery, in Lafayette. Visitation will be 12:30-1 p.m. at the church on Tuesday. Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop, is handling arrangements. Ralph is survived by his: wife, Dolores J. Lueck of Lafayette, a son, Les Lueck of Hugo; a daughter, Gayla Mattson of Carver; two grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Fyksen of New Brighton. He was born Feb. 20, 1915, in St. Paul, to Erick and Ellen (Greenfield) Lueck. Cornelia Malmberg, 96, of Winthrop, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Care Center. A memorial service has tentatively been set for Saturday, Jan. 19, at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop. An obituary will appear in The Journal closer to the date of services. Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop is handling the arrangements. Marion Isabelle Sasina, 83 of Anaheim, Calif., died Dec. 22, 2001 at the home of her son, Ron. A memorial service celebrating her life was held Friday, Jan. 4, at the Walnut Manor Chapel in Anaheim, Calif. Correspondence to family members can be sent to 6200 Trenton Road, Forestville, Calif. Marion was born April 15,1918. She was the eldest of three children born to Isabelle and Emil Liebisch. She grew up in Brown County, Minnesota, where her family owned several farms. The family later moved to New Ulm. In 1942 Marion traveled to California to help in the American war effort where she met her future husband, Steve Sasina, an enlisted Naval man. They married in September 1944. In 1959 they purchased a parcel of land within a walnut grove in Anaheim. They built their home and settled into what would be their community for the next 42 years. After her husband's death in 1993 Marion maintained their home as her residence. In 1998 she moved to the Walnut Manor in Anaheim. Marion traveled north to the Sonoma wine country to celebrate the 2001 Thanksgiving holiday with her family. She was admitted to the hospital in the early hours of Nov. 22. She was later released to her son, Ron, under hospice care. She dies peacefully three weeks later at his home. Marion was the master of many talents. Throughout her life she donated her time and skills to many community causes. An active member of her church, Zion Lutheran, she participated in the Altar Guild and the Lutheran Braille Volunteers. For several years she coordinated the parish's acolyte program. In later years she often helped as an office volunteer. Marion is survived by three of her four children, two granddaughters, two great granddaughters, four nieces and two daughters in-law. A wonderful mother, a kind and loyal friend, Marion will be greatly missed, often remembered and always loved.
