   Joanne Bode, 52, of Faribault, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault.
   Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
   She is survived by her husband Howard; children, Tara and husband Rudy Blank of St. Louis, Mo., David of Bloomington, Ind., Kimberly of River Falls, Wis., and Alicia; parents, Erwin and Erna Eichhorst of Waldorf; brother Bradley and wife, Sherry Eichhorst of Verona, Wis.; and sisters, Laurie and husband Mike Manthe of Good Thunder and Pamela and husband Greig Hodgkins of Russell, Manitoba, Canada.
   She was preceded in death by her sister, Kari Scharfe.
   She was born Dec. 22, 1947, in Waseca, to Erwin and Erna (Gerdts) Eichhorst. She married Howard Bode on June 22, 1969, in Waldorf. She attended the University of Minnesota, Southern School of Agriculture, Waseca, and the University of Minnesota, St. Paul, where she studied home economics. She worked at Donahue's Greenhouse, Faribault. She and her family operated the Bode Family Sweet Corn business in Walcott Township for eight years.

   Florence Haugly, 95, of Clara City, formerly of Vesta, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000 at Clara City Care Center.
   Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vesta, with burial in the City Cemetery, Vesta.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home, Echo, and will continue Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
   She is survived by her children, Lorraine Weberg of Maynard and Dr. Lawrence Haugly and his wife Ethel of North Mankato; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Oscar, Bert, Melvin, Andrew and Guy; sister Annie Nelson; two great-grandsons; and son-in-law Emil Weberg.
   She was born July 18, 1904, in Palmyra Township, Renville County, to Bringle and Karie (Anderson) Tollefson. She married Spencer Haugly on March 18, 1928, in Palmyra Township. They farmed near Fairfax until 1931. They moved to rural Vesta in 1932 and farmed there until 1967, when they retired. They moved to Clara City in 1977. Spencer died on April 13, 1985. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vesta, where she was active in Ladies Aid. She was a member of an Extension group.

   Arthur E. "Fuzzy" Fussner, 88, of Franklin, formerly of Pilot Grove Township, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Franklin Health Care Center.
   Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Earth, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.
   Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church .
   Patton Funeral Home, Blue Earth, is in charge of arrangements.
   He is survived by his wife Esther of Blue Earth and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
   He was born Dec. 18, 1912, in New Ulm to John and Ella (Giese) Fussner. He graduated from New Ulm High School. He worked for several years at Schell's Brewery as a bookkeeper. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Esther E. Viland on Oct. 5, 1946, in New Ulm. The couple moved to the Blue Earth area in the late 1940s, where they farmed in Pilot Grove Township until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Blue Earth American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Blue Earth Camera Club and Salem Lutheran Church, Pilot Grove Township.

   Hans Petersen, 85, of Lamberton, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Valley View Apartments, Lamberton.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Sanborn, with burial and full military honors in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
   He is survived by his children, Larry and Dixie of Anchorage, Alaska, Darold and Sharon of Windom, Allan and Linda of Spicer, Karen and Ron Onken of Onamia, and Dale and Vicki of Lamberton; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Evie and husband Leon Lingle of Lamberton; and brother-in-law, Melvin and wife Evelyn Busse of Sanborn.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jeanette in 1975; brothers, Christian, Fred, Otto and Arnold; and sisters, Olga, Viola and Vivian.
   He was born March 12, 1914, in Lamberton Township, Redwood County, to Otto and Kristine (Johansen) Petersen. He grew up in rural Lamberton and attended school in Lamberton. He worked on the family farm until he entered the U.S. Army, where he served in the 1st Infantry, 6th Division, during World War II. After his discharge he lived in the Lamberton and Sanborn area. He married Jeannette Busse on Feb. 7, 1946, in Germantown Township. They lived in Cottonwood County, rural Sanborn, where they farmed until retiring in 1974. In 1986 he moved to Sanborn. He moved to the Lamberton Apartments in December 1995. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sanborn, where he sang in the choir. He was past commander of the Colburn American Legion Post. He served on the Springfield Creamery Board and Sanborn Country School Board.

   Walter Wels, 81, formerly of Nicollet died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000 at the Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
   Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue on Saturday for one hour prior to time of service at the church.
   He is survived by a daughter, Leorda Wels of North Mankato; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Wayne Yost of Madison Lake; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Helen Wels of North Mankato and Kevin and Barbara Wels of Nicollet; five grandchildren, Steven and Laura Wels, Ian, Chrysta, and Mathew Hicks; two stepgrandchildren, Grace and James Thomas; and brothers, Herbert Wels and Harley Wels both of Nicollet.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucille on Nov. 13, 1995; brother Otto Wels; and a sister, Verna Boeck.
   He was born March 19, 1918 in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County, to Martin and Meta (Lange) Wels. He served in the United States Army from 1941 to 1945 serving in Europe. On Oct. 15, 1954, he married Lucille Struss at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. They farmed in Nicollet Township, until 1981 when they retired. In 1997, he moved to Lake Crystal. He had been a resident of the St. Peter Community Health Care Center in St. Peter and most recently had been a resident of the Mankato Lutheran Home in Mankato. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet.
