    Linus 'Pete' Feirer r, 80, of Springfield, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
   Services are 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan., 10, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday. and 7:30-10a.m., Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. There will be a parish prayer service at 6 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
   A complete obituary will be published in a future edition.

   Donald Gluth , 81, of 522 South Franklin Street in New Ulm died Monday, January 5, 2004 at the home of his daughter in Pine Island.
   Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2004, at the Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm with Pastor Dean Nosek officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations.
   Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Thursday.
    Donald is survived by his wife, DElaine Gluth of New Ulm; daughters, Renee of Pine Island, Rosalee of New Ulm; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Herb Fromm, Shirley and Frederick Hosto, Luverna and Delmar Schultz, Marlys and Art Lambrecht all of New Ulm, Elaine and Milan Bergien of Bloomington, Delaurice Grams of Scappoose, Oregon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Alice Gluth, Willard and Katherine Gluth all of New Ulm, and Warren and Ruth Gluth of St. Petersburg, Florida.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rance Gluth; nephew, Steven Gluth; niece, Ruth Burkholder.
    He was born on February 9, 1922, in New Ulm to Edwin and Lydia (Lippmann) Gluth. He graduated from New Ulm Schools. He served as a Tec 5 during WWII in the U. S. Army and received the Army of Occupation of Japan medal while serving in Japan and Korea. On August 30, 1950 he married DElaine Ebent in Buffalo Lake. He worked as a Road Grader operator for Armon Moll and then for Brown County for many years. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing church softball and baseball for the Kaiserhoff and the New Ulm Greenhouse. In his later years, he enjoyed working the "Chain Gang" at high school football games. He was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm.
   In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial be given to Alzheimer's Research.

   Arthur 'Art' Kassuelke , 92, of New Ulm died Sunday, January 4, 2004, at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
   Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 9, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Donald Sutton officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
   Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling arrangements.
   Art is survived by his sisters, Marcella Sommers of New Ulm, and Lillian Bernosky of Port Huron, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence Kassuelke in 1983; brothers, Willmar Kassuelke, Wesley Kassuelke, and Lee Kassuelke; sisters, Ellie Wendland, and Oreville Wieland.
   Arthur was born on February 26, 1911, in Cottonwood Township, Brown County, to Gotthilf and Emmy (Engelbart) Kassuelke. In 1957, he married Florence Fischer at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Through out his life, he owned Kassuelke's Water Softner business and drove truck. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

   Nicholas 'N.J.' Mertz III , 41, of 707 North Washington Street in New Ulm, died Sunday, January 4, 2004, at his home.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2004 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
   Nicholas is survived by his wife, Rachel of New Ulm; their animal children, Smokey, Pepper and Oscar; a goddaughter, Wendy Vogel of St. Louis, Missouri; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryll and Loren Blick, Lori and Rick Gilliland, Missy and Bob Maas, all of Sleepy Eye; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kim and Corinne Mertz of Sleepy Eye, Brad and Linda Mertz of West Salem, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews, Cal, Kyle, Cassey, Andrew, Jennifer, Kelly, Jared, Megan, Cody, Dylan, Dustin, Colten, Brandon, Bradley, and Brandon; mother-in-law, Kathleen Sullivan of New Ulm; father-in-law, Nathan Sullivan and his wife Linda of Columbus, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Rebekah Rannow of New Ulm, Elizabeth Sullivan of Columbus, Ohio; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Scott and Sue Sullivan of New Ulm, Matt and Jen Sullivan of Olivia; and by aunts and uncles.
   He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; a nephew, Cole Mertz; and by his hunting buddy, Brandy.
   Nicholas was born January 10, 1962, in Sleepy Eye to Nicholas and Rosemary (Laux) Mertz. He was a 1980 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye. He then attended St. Cloud State University and was a graduate of Mankato Vo-Tech with a degree in Sales and Marketing. He married Rachel Anne Sullivan on March 7, 1992 in New Ulm. He worked for Inver Grove Ford as a salesman and then for Thomson Auto Brokers in Burnsville until the present time. He was a member of the New Ulm Men's Pool League, he played softball in New Ulm and Sleepy Eye. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, snowmobiling, boating and camping. He loved spending time telling stories with his family and friends.

   Robert Mosser , 84, of Madelia, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at the Madelia Community Hospital.
   Services are 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Madelia, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Wednesday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia and Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
   He is survived by daughters, Theresa Knudtson and Elaine Reed, both of Madelia, and Linda Gustafson of Hanska; sons, Pat of Madelia, Robert of St. James, and Dennis of New Ulm; 18 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
   He was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Madelia to George and Effie (Bundy) Mosser.

   Eldon Pettersen , 97, of Madelia, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at the Madelia Community Hospital.
   Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Faith Lutheran Church, Madelia with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
   Pilgrim Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
   He is survived by four daughters, Evelyn Paulson of Madelia, Rosaline Chute of St. James, Marlis Bruns of Las Vegas, Nev. and Margo Fohs of Arlington, Iowa; Orville Pettersen of Madelia whom he raised as a son; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by wife Olga; an infant son; an infant daughter; son; two brothers and two great-grandsons.
   He was born April 17, 1906 in Madelia to Daniel and Anna (Schlaben) Pettersen.

   Wilbert Wog , 80, of Sanborn, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Springfield Medical Center in Springfield.
   Service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sanborn with burial at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Sanborn.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, and 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
   He is survived by his wife Arlene Wog of Sanborn; a son Steven of Sleepy Eye; daughter Nancy of Sanborn; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a sister Alice Larson of Springfield.
   Wilbert Gustav Wog was born on Oct. 31, 1923, in Charlestown Township near Sanborn, to Gustav and Lillian (Erickson) Wog.
