Engdahl, 83, of St. James died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999 at her home. Service of remembrance will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. There will be no visitation or reviewal. Sturm Funeral Home in St. James in handling arrangements. She is survived by husband, Herbert "Stub"; daughter, Pat Westman; grandsons, Todd Westman and wife Tammy, Scott Westman, all of St. James; sisters and brother-in-law, Vivian Johnson of Warren. Pa., Adeline and Russell Rempel of St. James. She was preceded in death by daughter, Janice in 1960; son-in-law, Robert Westman in 1995. She was born Sept. 17, 1915, in Adrian Township, Watonwan County to Herman and Esther (Nelson) Nelson. She attended District 35 school in West Sveadahl. She did home care service in the St. James and Mankato area. She married Herbert Engdahl on Feb. 27, 1939 at West Sveadahl Lutheran Church in rural St. James. They lived in West Sveadahl and rural LaSalle until 1946 when they moved to St. James. She helped her husband with his construction business and was an Avon representative. She was a former member of West Sveadahl Lutheran Church where she played piano and sang in the quartet. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James and its women's circles. She was also a member of the Shrine Club Auxiliary. Dorothea Doherty, 85, of Tempe, Ariz. and formerly of St. Peter, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Chandler Regional Hospital in Chandler, Ariz. Services are 3 p.m. Friday at Klein Funeral Home, St. Peter. Visitation is 1-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. She is survived by daughters, Betty Barsness of Tempe, Ariz., Karon Anderson of Mesa, Ariz., Mary Ann Luadtke of Chandler, Ariz., and Donna Pelkey of New Brighton, Minn.; son, Cyril Doherty of New Brighton, Minn; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton. Sidney C. Evers, 78 of rural Gaylord died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999 at his home. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord and one hour before the service at the church. He is survived by his wife, Clara of Arlington Good Samaritan Center; son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Marlene Evers of rural Gaylord; daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Rodney Bruns of Minneapolis; nine grandchildren; great-grandchild, Alex Evers; niece, Grace Sauter of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Martha Evers of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by brother, Harry; sister, Laura Zuehlsdorf. He was born Jan. 6, 1920 in Alfsborg Township, Sibley County to Henry and Emma (Hahn) Evers. He attended school in Alfsborg Township. He married Clara Rose on Oct. 27, 1940 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. He farmed in Alfsborg Township. He did custom harvesting and tree trimming in the Gaylord area and worked for Dean Foods in Arlington. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, a member of the German Choir, and he served as an usher. He played trombone and concertina for bands in Gaylord, Winthrop, Lafayette, and Bernadotte. Joseph C. Stadick, 86, of 716 S. German in New Ulm died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Wabasso Health Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Leona L. Stadick of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Wilbert Linsmeier of rural Wabasso; son and daughter-in-law, James and Connie Stadick of New Ulm; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Zitzman of Shoreview, Delores Peterson of New Ulm; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Alma Stadick of New Ulm, Clarence and Meta Stadick of Boise, Idaho, Norbert and Joyce Stadick of Portland, Ore. He was born on July 12, 1912, in New Ulm to Joseph and Theresa (Sperl) Stadick. He married Leona Ranweiler on Nov. 28, 1933, at St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. They farmed in Cornish Township, Sibley County until 1953 when they moved to New Ulm. He worked as a delivery man for Geib & Janni Lumber Company in New Ulm and retired in 1974. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. Kenneth C. Manderfeld, 71, formerly of 909 S. Franklin, New Ulm, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, New Ulm. Terry Curtis, 40 of Morgan, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Franklin Health Care Center. Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church in Morgan. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday with a parish prayer service at 7:30 pm at Nelson Funeral Home in Morgan, and continues one hour before services Sunday at the church. He is survived by wife, Dorothy of Morgan; father, Richard Curtis of Bemidji; mother, Sandra Potter and stepfather Dennis of Morgan; children, Jennifer, of Willmar and Bradley, of Morgan; sisters, Tanya Bogan and husband John of St. Paul, Tracy Elsing of Chaska and Tamara Hennessey of St. Peter; brother Richard Curtis II of St. Paul; grandmothers, Bernice Erickson of Hutchinson and Marlys Rausch of Sauk Center. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wallace Erickson and Jerome Rausch. He was born Sept. 17, 1958, in Minneapolis to Richard and Sandra (Hayer) Curtis. He attended Hutchinson Elementary schools and Redwood Falls High School, graduating in 1977. He married Dorothy Rasmussen on Oct. 27, 1978 in Litchfield. They resided in South Dakota and then moved to Morgan where they have lived for the past ten years. Cecilia Lueken, 90 of Morgan died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Morgan. Visitation will continue Friday 8-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Gertrude Lueken of Waterville, Iowa; Phyllis Lueken of Morgan, many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by brothers, Herman, Leo, Bill, Joe, Raymond; sisters, Margaret Heiderscheidt, Rita Ungs, Marcella Schall, Emunda in infancy. She was born Nov. 21, 1908, in Bancroft, Iowa to Herman and Mary (Schwieters) Lueken. She moved with the family to Morgan in 1917 and graduated from Morgan High School. She worked at St. Michael's Food Service for 34 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and CCW. Elvera Koch, 82, of Lamberton died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Lutheran Church. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy with a 7 p.m. parish prayer service and at the church one hour prior to services. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Roger Julien of New Ulm, Karen and Art Peterson of Tracy, Janet and Michael Roeder of New Ulm, Laurie and Ed Olsem of Westbrook; sisters, Evelyn Hillquist of Balaton, Eleanor Schwanebeck of Tyler; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both her husbands. She was born Nov. 25, 1916, to Oscar C. and Helga (Hobert) Holm in Murray County, where she attended rural school. She did housework for relatives in South Dakota and Minneapolis. On March 19, 1941 she married Gilbert Hill at her parent's home. They lived at Russell and Florence where her husband farmed. He died in 1951. She lived for a short time in the Ruthton and Balaton areas and then moved to Tracy. She married to William Koch on Oct. 28, 1959, at Sioux Falls, S.D. They lived in Tracy where her husband managed the Imperial Station. He died in 1991. In 1992 she became a resident of the Valley View Manor in Lamberton. She was active in Elderberries, church circle, Sunshine Club, American Legion Auxiliary and Birthday Club in Tracy.
