Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bismarck Township, Sibley County, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop and one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. She is survived by sons, Lowell Redman and wife Alice of Kasson, and David Redman of Winthrop; daughters, Janice Rowland and husband Arlo of Chatfield and Darlene Majeski of Winthrop; a step-son, Delmer Redetzke of Waite Park; a step-daughter, Brenda McCartney and husband Mac of Alexandria; six grandsons; one granddaughter; one step-grandson; two step-granddaughters; 14 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Hattie Becks of Gaylord Lakeview Nursing Home; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elmer H. Redman in 1966; husband Ervin Redetzke in 1997; son-in-law, Harold Majeski; infant granddaughter, Denise; six sisters, Annie Ellis, Hulda Podratz, Frida Barfknecht, Lena Fredin, Esther Barfknecht and Rosie Groehler; and five brothers, Charles, Herman, Henry, William and Martin Becke. She was born May 9, 1913 in Bismarck Township, Sibley County, to Fred and Wilhemina (Moerke) Becke. She was baptized and later confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bismarck Township. She grew up in Bismarck Township, where she attended school. She married Elmer H. Redman on Nov. 16, 1930 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Elmer died March 13, 1966. She married Ervin Redetzke June 30, 1972. Ervin died Feb. 4, 1997. She worked at restaurants in the Winthrop area. She was later employed at Hands Inc. in Winthrop. In September 1994, she entered the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop and St. James Lutheran Church in Bismarck Township. She also belonged to the VFW Auxiliary Post #4078 for many years and the Winthrop Senior Citizens. Albert H. Laabs, 88, of Hugo. and formerly of Winthrop died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999 at Fairview Lakes Regional Hospital in Wyoming, Minn. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Dalin-Hange Funeral Chapel in Winthrop and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to the service. He is survived by a son, Roger Laabs and wife Marcy of Stillwater; a daughter, Eldonna Laabs of Arlington; three grandsons, Thomas Laabs of Pittsburgh,. and Jarrett and Matthew Laabs of the Twin Cities; sisters-in-law, Dolores Ahlbrecht of New Ulm, Adeline Laabs, Hertha Krueger and Mildred Krueger, all of Winthrop. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marin Laabs; and sister, Louise Rose. He was born Sept. 5, 1910 in Round Grove Township, McLeod County to Herman and Minna (Muchow) Laabs. He was baptizedand was later confirmed at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Fernando. He grew up in Round Grove Township, where he attended country school. He married Dorothy E. Krueger on June 23, 1939 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bismarck Township, Sibley County. Dorothy passed away in 1994. The couple farmed in Bismarck Township until their retirement in the early 1980s, when they moved to Winthrop. After Dorothy's death, he continued living in Winthrop until 1995, when he moved to a private residence foster care facility in Hugo He was a member, trustee and chairman of the board for the church council at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Fernando, and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Elmer A. Wolter, 89, of Arlington, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arlington, with burial in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. today at the Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington, at at the church Monday, from 11 a.m. until the service. He is survived by his wife, Rosella Wolter of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria Jean and Dale ZumBerge of Green Isle, and Diane Marie and Dennis Casey Moore of Stillwater, six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Ervin and Marian Wolter of Portland, N.Y., and and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ruben and Geraldine Bergs of Winthrop. He was born Feb. 13, 1909, in Arlington Township tooR. John and Sophie (Feltmann) Wolter. On April 28, 1940, he married Rosella Bergs at Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Auburn. He grew up on a farm and helped his father, and worked for other farmers. He owned a gas station in Arlington, was employed building silos and later worked as a mason for contractors. He also was an employee of the City of Arlington for many years. Edna Gutknecht, 94, of Minneapolis and formerly of the Winthrop area, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999 at University Good Samaritan Center in Minneapolis. Services are pending at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.
