Carol G. Amsden, 68, of Canyon Lake, Calif., formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Dec. 11, 2002, at her home in California. Funeral service was held Dec. 13, 2002, at the Evans-Brown Mortuary Chapel in Sun City, Calif. Visitation was held at the Evans-Brown Mortuary. She is survived by her husband Michael Amsden of Canyon Lake, Calif.; sons, Bryan Hansen of Anaheim, Calif., Brett Hansen of Fuhlerton, Calif., and Bradley Hansen of Tucson, Ariz.; sister Else Jacobsen of Morgan; and four grandchildren. Carol G. Anderson was born July 18, 1934, to Carl and Hansine Anderson of Sleepy Eye. Orville Wallace Brown, 73, of Sanborn, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Services are 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 7:30-8:30 a.m. today, at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and continues one hour before the service at the church. He is survived by sons, Steve Brown of Alexandria, Jeff Brown of New London; daughter, Renee Pidde of Sanborn; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard Brown of Sanborn; sisters, Leona Zimmerman of Sanborn, Betty Sutschek of Engleside, Ill. and Sue Yeazle of Monticello. He was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Stately Township, Brown County, to Herman and Louise (Essig) Brown. Ariana Williams Buboltz, 15 months, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis as a result of an accident at home. Mass of the Angels will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements. Ariana is survived by her parents Angela Marie Buboltz and Han Williams of Minneapolis; stepbrother Hanz Williams of Minneapolis; grandparents, Monica and Bob Buboltz of New Ulm, Chong and Mark Williams of Minneapolis; great-grandmothers, Marie Rubischko of New Ulm, Helen Buboltz of Fairfax, and Margaret Mitchell of Chicago, Ill.; an uncle, Paul Buboltz of New Ulm; and aunts, Markleta Williams and Melanique Williams both of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers, Harvey Buboltz and Frank Rubischko. Ariana was born on Oct. 19, 2001, in Minneapolis. Ella M. Fries , 95, of Arlington, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington, with burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Green Isle. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday. She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Paulson of St. Paul, Marvilla Buck of Mankato, Mary Ann Harder of Le Sueur, and Kathy Biersdorf of Mound; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. Ella M. Fries was born Nov. 6, 1907, in Atkin, to Henry and Mary (Husfelt) Burdorf. David Jon Kretsch , 38, of Forest Hill, Md., formerly of New Ulm, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in Forest Hill, Md. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Forest Hill, Md. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. vigil service at Evans Funeral Chapel in Forest Hill, Md. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline R. Kretsch; sons, Brandon N. and Jonathan R. Kretsch; mother Elizabeth V. Kretsch; and brothers, James and Daniel Kretsch. David Jon Kretsch was born June 22, 1964, in New Ulm to Elizabeth (Rewitzer) and Herman Kretsch. Ada Wendlandt, 81, of Hutchinson, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Hutchinson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Penn Township, McLeod County, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and 8 - 9 a.m. Saturday at the Hantge Funeral Chapel in Brownton, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. She is survived by her husband Ervin Wendlandt of Hutchinson; daughters, Marna Paehlke of Brownton, and Mavis Mielke of Brownton; sons, Arlyn Wendlandt of Litchfield, and Merrill Wendlandt of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rufina Henke of Gaylord, Ella Neubarth of Gaylord, Elva Wendlandt of Brownton, Elsie Schulz of Winthrop, Verona Katzenmeyer of Brownton, and MaryAnn Schatz of Brownton; and brother Lester Lindeman of Brownton. Ada Martha (Lindeman) Wendlandt was born on June 2, 1921, in Penn Township, McLeod County, to Herman and Elsie (Becker) Lindeman. Helen J. Western, 81, of Redwood Falls, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Redwood Area Hospital Services are 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls with burial in Redwood Falls Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and one hour before the service Saturday at the church. She is survived by son, Dan Western of Falls Church, Va.; daughters, Elaine Hagen of Belview, Gwenneth El Sawi of Highland, Md., Marilee Cantelomo of Marshfield Hills, Mass., Loreen Western of New Market, Md.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Carl Wright of Aitkin, and Norman Wright of Aitkin. She was born July 11, 1921, in Aitkin County, Minn., to Claude and Averil (Shisler) Wright.
