Hildegard E. Carlson, 91, of Cokato and formerly of Winthrop, passed away on Friday, Jan.23, 2004, at the Cokato Manor. Arrangements are pending at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop. Veronica Huhn, 89, of the St. George Area died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at the Lake View Nursing Home in Gaylord. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Florence Jerzak, 81, of New Ulm died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the New Ulm Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 until 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and then for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday. Florence is survived by her five daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Dave Lutzwick of Little Falls, Linda and John Richards of Coon Rapids, Debbie and Dawayne Sehr of New Ulm, Sandy and Al Hansen of Canby, and Beckie and Bob Strom of St. Peter; grandchildren, Trista, Ben, Sara, Ryan, Bobby, and Daren; great grandchildren, Annalisha, Hunter, and one on the way; her sisters, Clara Nilges and Berthina Moen both of Ivanhoe; and her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Ann Tholen of Ivanhoe. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Jerzak on February 2, 1996; grandson, John Lutzwick; sister, Janet Lozinski; and brother, Edward Tholen. Florence was born on June 30, 1922 in Arco to William and Mary (Uphoff) Tholen. She attended school in Ivanhoe. On September 11, 1945, she married Max Jerzak. They farmed in Ivanhoe until moving to New Ulm in 1969. She worked at various businesses in New Ulm until retirement. She was a member of several card clubs. Florence enjoyed search words, solitaire, crocheting, and shopping. Florence, the gentle lady, will be missed greatly by her five loving daughters and family to whom she devoted all of her time. Robert Rudell, of 309 South Broadway in New Ulm died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
