Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in New Ulm with burial to follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 8 a.m. Monday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church. Lewis Vernon Budahn, the son of Vernon and Myrtle (Sinell) Budahn, was born Aug. 4, 1926 in Arlington. Following graduation from Arlington High School in 1944, he worked in the family auto garage business and was united in marriage to Therese Harens on Aug. 12, 1947 in Arlington. In 1959, they moved to New Ulm where he owned and operated Budahn International Garage with his father and brothers, Claude and Earl. His wife died in 1968. He married Naomi Bode on Jan. 18, 1969 in Courtland. They made their home on her farm east of Courtland. He retired in 1988, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Naomi of Courtland; sons, Alan Budahn of Minneapolis, James Budahn and his wife Amy of Lakewood, Colo.; daughters, Jeanette Hollingsworth of Tracy, Charlotte Steveson and her husband Chris of Lakewood, Colo.; stepchildren, Nadine Bode of New Ulm, Krista Riggs of Courtland, Anthony Bode and his wife Julia of Scottsdale, Ariz., Henry Bode and his wife Claudette of LaCrosse, Wis., Paula Crownover and her husband Craig of Fort Collins, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Alvin Budahn and his wife Marianne of Darwin, Claude Budahn and his wife Lucille of New Ulm, Earl Budahn and his wife Joan of Arlington; nieces and nephews. Memorials are preferred to Renal Dialysis.
