Arrangements are pending with Kluegel and Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton. Joseph Dawson, 74 ,of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Valley Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Ariz. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with burial in the Morton City Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and National Guard units of Redwood Falls. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and continue on Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. He is survived by wife, Martha; sons, Gregory of Minneapolis, Joseph of Casper, Wyo.; stepchildren Judy Greenslit and husband Jerry of Morton, Janet Jones and husband Jack of Waseca, Barbara Gustavson and husband Gary of Minnetonka, John Squibb and wife Janice of Hector, Pamela Foreman and husband Jerry of Apache Junction, Ariz., Glenda Proell and husband Gary of St. Cloud and Becky Hauer and husband Gary of Hudson, Wis.; three grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Kiser and husband James of Ames, Iowa, Marilyn Wollridge and husband Donald of Sioux City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his first wife Natalie, and sister Evelyn Lee. He was born Aug. 17, 1924 in Vermillion, S.D. to Joseph and Mable (Armstrong) Dawson. He married Martha (Landers) Squibb on May 2, 1981. in Hector. He was previously married to Natalie Larson on Feb. 14, 1957 in Vermillion, S.D. She died on Sept. 14, 1979. He resided in Vermillion until 1962, Sioux Falls until 1967, Morton until 1983 when he and Martha moved to Redwood Falls. They spent the winter months in Mesa, Ariz. He was a contractor for 25 years, retiring in 1989. He served as a master sergeant in the National Guard for 19 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Redwood Falls. Clara Pagenkopf, 88, of Burnsville and formerly of Winthrop, died Jan. 24, 1999, at Ebenezer Ridges Nursing Home, Burnsville. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. James Lutheran Church, Burnsville, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Luverne and Betty Pagenkopf of Pine City; daughters and sons-in-law, Junell and Richard Peterson of Savage, Joan and Richard Haas of Mankato; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, William and Ann Krueger; husband, Martin; and son, Virgil. Darleen 'Beanie' Allen, 68 of Minneapolis, formerly of Trimont died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Trimont with burial in Elm Creek Cemetery in rural Trimont. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the service at the church. She is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Birdella Allen of rural Trimont, Wilbur and Grace Allen of Fridley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Claribel and Lowell Erickson of Washougel, Wash., Evelyn and John Stokes of Madelia, Nina and Donald Faber, Sr. of rural trimont, Judith and James Connor of Marietta, Ga., Janice and Oscar Knaak of rural Lewisville, Linda and Roger Geistfeld of rural Truman; sister-in-law, Vivian Allen of Spencer, Iowa; lifetime friend, Lillian Oqusit of Minneapolis; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her brother Donald Allen. She was born July 1, 1930 in Fox Lake Township, Martin County. She attended Triumph public school, graduating in 1948. She attended Vocational Nurses Training in Minneapolis, and she became a licensed practical nurse and later a registered nurse. She worked at various hospitals in the Minneapolis area until retiring. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Trimont. Holland Thompson, 65 of Lamberton died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton and one hour prior to the service at the church. He is survived by son, Holland C. Thompson and fiancee Laurie Vega of Kissimmee, Fla.; daughter, Annette Thompson of Redwood Falls; grandchildren, Tre Jones and Riann Thompson, both of Redwood Falls; sisters, Isabel McManus of San Diego, Calif., Sylvia Thompson of Brooks; mother-in-law, Ann (Mrs. Elmer) Nichols of Wilcox, Penn.; brothers-in-law, Robert and spouse Dorry Nichols of Lake Havasu, Az., Richard Nichols of Norfolk, Va., sister-in-law, Nancy and her spouse Gary Rich of Detroit, Mich., a niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy in 1993. He was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Detroit, Mich., to Clark and Isabel (Lloyd) Thompson. He received a bachelor's of arts degree from Wabasha College-Terre Haute, Ind., and a master's degree from Bemidji State University. He married Judith Nichols on April 7, 1969 in Waterford, Mich. They lived in various areas before moving to Lamberton in 1980 where he was a guidance counselor for Lamberton Area Schools. He retired in 1996. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Japan for a year. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lamberton and the Lions Club. Logan J. Hager, 91 died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m rosary at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive, and one hour prior to the service at the church. He is survived by wife, Anastasia; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Helen Hager of rural Mankato, Mike and Patricia Hager of rural Good Thunder; daughters and sons-in-law, E. Diane and Raymond Schweiss of Hector, Kay and Francis Schweiss of Fairfax, Rita and Ted Wolfe of rural Mankato; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. He was born May 30, 1907 in Decoria Township, Blue Earth County, to Joseph and Catherine (Jaeger) Hager. He married Anastasia Templin on July 3, 1935 in Mapleton. He resided in Decoria Township, farming until retiring in 1962. He worked for Bird's Eye for 25 years. He served on the Beauford Creamery Board and was a member of the District 116 school board. Lucille Paquin, 93 of Lamberton, formerly of Minneapolis, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999 at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Services are 11:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lamberton with burial on Monday in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church with a 10 a.m. family rosary. Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannette and Thomas Paiement, Joan and Carl Anderson all of Minneapolis; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Adeline Stroschin and Ann Nickforo both of Minneapolis; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Homer in 1972; sister, Helen Harmonick; brothers, Allie, Frank, John, Laurence, Walter, and six others in Infancy. She was born Jan. 1, 1906, in Flensburg to Paul and Suzanne Karpinski. She married Homer Paquin on Oct. 4, 1929 in Flensburg. They operated a tire shop in Lamberton until retiring in 1951 when they moved to Minneapolis. While in Lamberton she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In Minneapolis she attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was a resident of Valley View Manor in Lamberton since 1991. Carl Fischer, Jr., 59 of Minnesota Lake, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at his home. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Zoars United Church of Christ in Waldorf with burial in Peace Cemetery in Minnesota Lake. Visitation is Thursday from 4-9 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Minnesota Lake, and continues one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. He is survived by wife,Barbara of Minnesota Lake; sons, Scott and wife Lisa Fischer of Jaynesville, Ronald and wife Stacie Fischer of Minnesota Lake; daughter, Renee and husband Brian Meyer of Jaynesville; four grandchildren; sister, Sedonna and husband Robert McFarland of Mason City, IA; sister-in-law, Lenora Fischer of Mankato; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Lyle. He was born Dec. 29, 1939 in Mankato to Carl William and Anna (Fennert) Fischer Sr. He graduated from Minnesota Lake High School in 1957. He married Barbara Jean Linde on June 11, 1964, in Jaynesville. He farmed and also worked for the railroad. In 1958 he formed the "Carl Fischer Band" and appeared throughout the Midwest, including the New Ulm area. In 1977 he opened "Carl's Barn" bear Waldorf. He was a member of Zoars United Church of Christ, Waldorf, Moose Club in Mankato, Eagle's Club in Albert Lea, and the Albert Lea Federation of Music. Kenneth A. Strege, 47 of rural Nicollet died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999 at his home. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown, S.D. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mankato Mortuary is handling the arrangements. He is survived by sons, Troy, Shad, and Casey Strege; daughter, Nicole Strege; several grandchildren; father, Howard Strege of rural Nicollet; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Karla Strege of Watertown, S.D., Stan and Patty Strege of Fountain Hills, Az., David and Bonny Strege of Mahtomedi; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Strege of Brooklyn Park, Nila Strege of St. Peter, Linda Koch of Loveland, Colo., Kimberly and James Kazemba of Round Lake; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother. He was born May 12, 1951 in Clear Lake, S.D., to Howard and Murial (Bundy) Strege. He attended Trinity Lutheran School in Nicollet and graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School in Mankato. He received a B.A. from Minnesota State University at Mankato. He worked for Taylor Corp.'s Fine Impressions Division. He was a member and former deacon of Faith Lutheran Church in Nicollet. Arlin R. Christensen, 82, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Jan. 26. 1999 at Sleepy Eye Care Center. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the Brookville-Dannebod Cemetery, rural Sleepy Eye. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and continues one hour before services Friday at the church. A complete obituary will be published in a future edition. Oliver H. Ambroson, 76, of North Mankato died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato with burial in Minneopa Cemetery in Southbend Township, Blue Earth County. Visitation is 4-8 today at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive, and one hour before services at the church on Thursday. He is survived by wife, Elaine Ambroson of North Mankato; daughter, Elizabeth Tibbetts and husband Matthew of Minneapolis; son Jay Ambroson of Syosset, N.Y.; brother Carl and wife Ruth of Mayville, N.D.; sisters, Ruth Malloy of Wilderville, Ore., Leona Oglesby of Dundee, FL, Ida Rasmussen of Rushford, Ragna Guttormson and husband Marvel of Portland, N.D.; sister-in-law, Jene Ambroson of Grand Forks, N.D.; brother-in-law, William Thompson of Clifford, N.D.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant son; five brothers; four sisters. He was born July 19, 1922 to Ole and Helga (Brovold) Ambroson in Clifford, N.D. He graduated from Clifford High School in 1941 and attended Mayville College in North Dakota. He married Elaine Knudson on May 18, 1943 in Clifford, N.D. He worked as a farmer from 1942-1947 in the Clifford area and then worked at Sanda Implement and Auto from 1947-1958 in Hatton, ND. In 1958 he went to work for Production Credit Association (Farm Credit Service) in Fargo, N.D. until 1968 when he moved to Mankato. He worked for P.C.A. in Mankato before retiring as CEO in 1985. He was a guest instructor at North Dakota State University, a consultant for many southern Minnesota banks, and an advisor committee member of the University of Minnesota, Waseca. He was also a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato where he was a past church council president, the Mankato Elks, Eagles, Moose, SCORE, and Golden K of North Mankato.
