   Violet Ahlness, 88, of rural Hanska, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000 at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Linden Lutheran Church, rural Hanska, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Firle Funeral Home, Hanska, and will continue one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
   She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Loen and Charles Troldahl of Mankato, Arlys and Orris Sletta of Hanska, and Donna and Ralph Hagert of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alpha Thordson; and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1982; brother, Leonard Lemke; and sisters, Helen Jensen, Esther Brown.
   She was born Dec. 1, 1911, in New Ulm, to William and Anna (Meyer) Lemke. She grew up in New Ulm and attended St. Paul's Lutheran School. She married Richard Ahlness on Oct. 16, 1928, in New Ulm. They farmed in Linden Township. She became a nursing home resident in October 1998.

   Loy Trowbridge, 91, of St. James, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center.
   Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, St. James.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James.

   Walter Zachow, 83, of Gaylord, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Glencoe Area Health Center.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Gaylord.
   Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord; and continues one hour before services at the church.

   Goldie Leske, 95, of Buffalo Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake.
   Visitation is one hour prior to the time of service at the church.
   Arrangements were handled by with Hughes Funeral Horne, Hector.
   

   Ada Kilmer, 88, of Madelia, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Madelia Community Hospital.
   Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Madelia United Methodist Church, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
   Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

   Ella Kjelshus, 92, of New Ulm and formerly of Hanska, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Oak Hills Living Center, New Ulm.
   Funeral arrangements are pending with Firle Funeral Home, Hanska.

   Louis A. Renner, 90, died Jan. 26, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
   Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Springfield, with burial in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-9 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and at the church Monday one hour prior to the service.
   He is survived by his son, Kenneth and wife Sharon Renner of Springfield; daughter, Judith and husband Jim Sizer of St. James; stepchildren, Marvin Fennern of St. Paul, Elaine and husband Derald Edwards of New London and Marlene and husband Wallace Hansen of New London; many grandchildren; and step grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lena in 1977; wife, Aurelia in 1995; brother, Emil; and sister, Mathilda.
   He was born on Feb. 3, 1909, in Prairieville Township, Brown County, to Carl M. and Lydia (Jeske) Renner. He moved with his family to Brookville Township in Redwood County where they lived until 1951. He married Lena Martha Schultz on Sept. 19, 1934, in Bowdon, N.D. They moved to North Star Township in Brown County where they farmed until he retired in 1973. He moved to Springfield in 1976. Lena preceded him in death in 1977. On Jan. 31, 1987, he married Aurelia Fennern at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was a church council member and a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood Group. He also served on the District 34 School Board in Redwood County.

   Lawrence 'Larry' Robinson, 69, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Arlington Municipal Hospital, Arlington.
   There will be a private family service.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington.
   He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Green Isle; sons and daughters, Dan, Peggy and Teresa Robinson and Linda Hoehn of Mankato, Bruce of Marshall and Brad of Green Isle; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Marissa; mother, Marcella Robinson of Vernon Center; brother, Dale Strand of Florida; sisters, Delores McCarthy of Arizona and Goldie Tettam of Vernon Center.
   He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Robinson.
   He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in LeSueur, to Norman and Marcella (Decko) Robinson. He married Gloria Bullert on June 25, 1966. He had his own country music band.
