   Duane F. Wolterman, 72, of Fairfax, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at Oak Hills Living Center, New Ulm.
   Arrangements are pending at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel, New Ulm.

   Arlin Christensen, 82 of Sleepy Eye died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at Sleepy Eye.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the Brookville-Dannebod Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Military rites will be conducted by the Morgan VFW Post 5771.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   He is survived by wife, Melva of Sleepy Eye; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and David Arlt of Apple Valley; son, Reynold and his fiancee Gail Kodet of rural Morgan; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Zenk of Clinton; and sister-in-law, Mildred Christensen of Morgan.
   He was preceded in death by brother Vernon; sisters Agnes, Anita, and Gladys; granddaughter Lori Christensen; brother-in-law Norbert Zenk.
   He was born Aug. 28, 1916 in Brookville Township to Ole and Ida (Jensen) Christensen where he grew up and attended country school. He worked on the family farm until entering the U.S. Army in 1941. He served in North Africa and was wounded while serving in Italy with the Fifth Army. He was awarded the Silver Star in 1944. He also received the Bronze Arrowhead marking service in six campaigns and two Purple Hearts. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to the family farm. He married Melva Kopischke on Feb. 12, 1946 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Morgan. They farmed in Eden Township until 1953 when they moved to a farm in Brookville Township. They retired in 1980 and moved to Sleepy Eye. He was a life member of VFW Post 5771 in Morgan and DAV Post 15. He was an elder at the Zion Lutheran Church in Morgan and a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye.

   Gladys Maker, 79 of Lamberton died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999 at her home.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Lamberton United Methodist Church with burial in the Lamberton Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 10-12 a.m. Friday at Lamberton United Methodist Church. Arrangements handled by Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.
   She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Myron and Sandra Maker of Chatfield, Burl and Lona Maker of North Mankato; eight grandchildren; sister, Violet Henning of Wabasso; sisters-in-law, Blanche Frank of Sioux City, Iowa, Ruby Maker of Redwood Falls.
   She was preceded in death by husband, Alvin in 1985; daughter, Virginia in 1987; sisters Rachel Maker, Ruth Johnson, Jesse Ludwig, Florence Wamke, Freida Neunburg; brothers Roger, Victor and Wesley Frank.
   She was born May 24, 1919, in Waterbury Township, Redwood County to F.W. and Mary (Stienhauser) Frank. She was raised on a farm and attended country school. Her family moved to Lamberton in 1941. She married Alvin Make on March 20, 1941 in Lamberton and they made their home on a farm in Johnsonville Township. They retired and moved to Lamberton in 1981. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Lamberton where she held a variety of offices and taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was chairperson of the Valley View Auxiliary.

   Floyd Burtzel, 64, of Seaforth, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 199, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
    Services are Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Seaforth with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is Friday at 4-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Seaforth, and will continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services at the church.
   He is survived by wife, Beatrice of Seaforth; children, Randy Burtzel and wife Jeanne of Cold Spring, Lauree Price and husband Tony of Wabasso, Doug Burtzel of Wabasso, Linda Guetter and husband Ben of Redwood Falls, Bonnie Guetter and husband Jerome of Redwood Falls, Barb Salfer and husband John of Champlin, Joe Burtzel of Wabasso; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Gerald Burtzel and wife Pat of Kasota, Francis Burtzel of Redwood Falls.
   He was born Nov. 28, 1934, to Joseph and Marie (Bernardy) Burtzel in Sheridan Township, Redwood County. He resided with his family in Sheridan Township and attended District 11 school. He graduated from Wabasso High School in 1952. He married Beatrice Schunk at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso on June 10, 1954. They farmed in Sheridan Township. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

   Harm Elsing, age 65 of Morgan, died Tuesday at his home in Morgan. Services are Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan with burial at a later date in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is Thursday at 4-8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Morgan with a parish scripture prayer service at 7 p.m., and will continue Friday at 8-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
   He is survived by wife, Veronica of Morgan; children, Julie Anderson and husband Peter of Franklin, Jean Anderson and husband Ronald of Sleepy Eye, Daniel Elsing and wife Annette of Clarkfield, Annette Elsing of Morgan, David Elsing and wife Tammy of Morgan, Theresa Kerkhoff and husband Timothy of Morton, Thomas Elsing and wife Sheryl of Morgan, Kathryn Drietz of Minneota, Lori Guza and husband Alvin of Minneota, Lisa Elsing of Morgan; 27 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Elsing of Springfield.
   He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Krahn, Dorothy Heffele; brothers Harry, Menno and Ben.
   He was born July 12, 1933, in Comfrey, to Harm and Helen (Minken) Elsing Sr. He attended Comfrey Public Schools. On Sept. 15, 1954 he married Veronica Krueger at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clements. They lived on farms in Clements, Sanborn and Springfield areas before moving to Morgan in 1980. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

   Agnes C. Hornig, 92, formerly of New Ulm, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
   Memorial service is 8:30 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
    Visitation is 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
   She is survived by her son, Lawrence Hornig of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Leona and Anton Rubie of rural New Ulm; two grandchildren, Barbara Rubie of Ashland, Wis., and Robert Rubie and his wife Julie of New Ulm; three great-grandchildren, Allison, Erin, and Colin Rubie all of New Ulm; sister, Ann Gerasch of New Ulm; brothers and sister in law, Lawrence and Angela Brandel of Jordan, and Herbert Brandel of Aurora, Ill.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton in 1982; three sisters; and three brothers.
   She was born March 15, 1906, in West Newton Township, Nicollet County to John and Kathryn (Dummer) Brandel. She married Anton Hornig on April 16, 1929, at St. George Catholic Church. They farmed in the surrounding area until retiring and moving to New Ulm in 1972.
   She has been living at the Sleepy Eye Care Center since 1991. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
   

    Dorothy (Pischke) Presswood, 75, of 12142 Marbel Ave., Downey, Calif., died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999.
   Funeral arrangements are pending in Downey.
   She is survived by her husband, Claude Presswood; children, David, Claudia and Sandra; a sister Delores Johnson of Wadena, and brothers, Roland and wife Shirley Pischke of Eagle Lake, and DuWayne and Mary Pischke of Glendora, Calif.
   She was born Aug. 11, 1923, to Art and Geneva (Kuck) Pischke. She grew up in New Ulm, where she attended St. Paul's Lutheran grade school and graduated from New Ulm High School.
