Cecilia Gannon, 91, of Sleepy Eye died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2000, in Sleepy Eye. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation is 7:30-9:30 a.m. to day at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. She is survived by her children, Thomas and wife Eileen Gannon of Duluth, and Clarice and husband Bart Christenson of Woodbury; granddaughters, Jeanne Gannon of St. Paul, Kimberly and husband Todd Blouin, and Megan Christenson, all of Fort Worth, Texas; and sister-in-law, Virginia Booye of Seattle, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George in 1985; brother, Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Mich; sisters, Marie Mich, Dorothy Diekhoff, Mary Mich and Emily Mich. She was born May 16, 1908, in the Rochester area to John and Dora (Schmelzer) Mich. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Rollingstone and from the College of Saint Teresa in Winona. She taught science and mathematics at St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye. She married George Gannon on Aug. 24, 1937, in Simpson. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers Society, Divine Providence Home Auxiliary and Council of Catholic Women. Elmer Perrier, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at the Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery, St. James. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m today and 7:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home. Visitation will also continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. He is survived by daughter, Audrey and Ray Brey of Eagen, sons, Theodore and Jean of Burnsville and Robert and Nancy of Fergus Falls; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Theodore, Rowland, Raymond; and infant sister Mary. He was born Feb. 20, 1908, in Chisholm to Alphonse Eli and Mary (Beauclair) Perrier. He attended two years at St. Thomas and three years at the University of Minnesota Law School where he received his law degree. In 1931 he was admitted to the bar and began his career as an attorney. He started private practice in St. James which he ran for 46 years. He married Selma M. Appel on Oct. 7, 1933, in Estherville, Iowa. He served as Watonwan County Attorney for 11 years, until he was drafted into the Navy during World War II where he served as a radar operator for over 13 months. He returned to practice law. He also served as a president of the local Rotary Club, commander of the American Legion Post No. 33, member of the American Legion, president of the 6th District Bar Association, St. James Commercial Club, and the Watonwan Game and Fish Club. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
