   Otto L. Roiger, 95, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
   Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
   He is survived by his wife Phyllis Roiger of Springfield; daughters Mary Alice and Frank Ziegler of Fairfax, Margie and Andy Hacker of Morgan; sons Loren Roiger of Des Moines, Iowa, and Gerald and Angie Roiger of Springfield; step-children Gary and Judi Lowinske of Hoven, S.D.; Robert Lowinske of Springfield, and Kayla and Jim Mertz of Norfolk, NE; 22 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 8 step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ray and Loretta Roiger of St. Michael; sister Angie and Wilbert Haala of Searles; and sister-in-law Margaret Roiger of Lamberton.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Louise Fischer Roiger in 1954; brothers Art and Leroy Roiger; sister-in-law Florence Roiger and great-grandson Steven Ziegler.
   He was born Oct. 11, 1904 to Joseph and Katherine (Sturm) Roiger in Bashaw Township. He married Louise Fischer on May 24, 1927 in Sleepy Eye and she died in 1954. He married Phyllis (Johnson) Lowinske on May 19, 1970, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. He farmed most of his life in the Springfield area until 1951 and was a cattle buyer for Wilson & Co. for many years.
   In 1964 he moved into Springfield and owned and operated the Drive-In Liquor from 1964 to 1970. He was a former member of Farm Bureau, a lifetime member of St. Raphael's Church, member of KC's & Third Order of St. Francis.

   Ruth B. Julius, 80, of Franklin, died Friday at the Redwood Falls Hospital.
   Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morton, with burial in the Morton City Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue one hour prior to Wednesday's services at the church.
   Ruth is survived by a son, Jackie and wife Gloria of Southhaven, Miss.; a daughter, Sharon Middleton and her husband James of Otter Lake, Mich.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; the nieces and nephews she raised, Judy Lee, Rocky Sallee, Wanda Sallee and Mary Smetak; a sister, Elfie Doepke of Franklin; brother, Bob Sallee and his wife Carol of Reno, Nev.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben; and a brother, James Sallee.
   Ruth B. Julius was born Nov. 23, 1919 in North Redwood Falls to James and Hetty (Bliss) Sallee. She grew up in Morton, where she received her education. Ruth married Ben Julius Sept. 12, 1937 in Fairfax. They lived in Fairfax until the mid 1940s when the moved to Morton. Ruth raised her family and also worked as a nurse's aide in Redwood Falls and Franklin until 1974. In 1963, her mother died, and she and Ben raised four nieces and nephews. Ben died Dec. 18, 1970. Ruth moved to Reno, Nev. in 1974, where she continued her work as a nurse's aide for over 20 years. In 1994, she returned to Franklin and lived with her sister, Elfie. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and prior to moving to Nevada, she had been very active in ladies aid.

   Verna M. Goblirsch, 69, of Comfrey, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
   Service s will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home Chapel in Comfrey. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
   She is survived by her husband, Clarence of Comfrey; daughters, Vivian and husband Jerome Kostelecky of Little Canada, Shirley and husband Reese Hoelscher of Mankato, Carolyn and husband Joel Darge of St. Peter, Judy and husband Mark Hanson of Hendricks, and Cheryl and husband Scott Gustavson of St. Clair; sons, John and wife Vicki Goblirsch of Fayetteville, N.C., Jeffrey and wife Linda Goblirsch of Walbridge, Ohio, David and wife Michelle Goblirsch of Sleepy Eye, Robert and wife Kathy Goblirsch of Sleepy Eye, Douglass and wife Connie Goblirsch of Ramsey, and Kenneth Goblirsch of Butterfield; a daughter-in-law, Pauline Goblirsch of Sanford, Fla.; 27 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great grandchild; one step great grandchild; and a sister, Emily and husband La Vern Tischer of Cambridge.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Goblirsch in 1997; a grandson, Christopher Goblirsch; a sister, Dorothy; and a brother, Melvin.
   Verna was born Jan. 10, 1931 in Mapleton to George and Helen (Hicks) Schull. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1948 and from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Mankato. Verna became an LPN and worked at St. Joseph's Hospital until marriage. She married Clarence Goblirsch Dec. 2, 1952 in Mankato. They lived and farmed in Mulligan Township. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, a church circle and a former member of a home extension group.
