Tauer , 92, a resident of the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye and formerly of the Realife Apartments in New Ulm, died on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Monday at the Cathedral, and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Jennie is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis and Lee Brandt of rural New Ulm, Carol and Les Fluegge of New Ulm, and Peg Tauer of Aptos, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mamie (Mary) Waibel of New Ulm; brothers, Louis Stadick and John Stadick, residents of the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center, Theodore Stadick and Benno Stadick of New Ulm, and Leo Stadick of Downers Grove, Ill.; also by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph W. Tauer in 1968; a son in infancy; sister, Caroline Stadick; brothers, Herman Stadick in 1994 and Conrad Stadick in 2001; and a son-in-law, Robert Hoffman in 1970. Jennie was born July 22, 1909, in Sigel Township, Brown County, to John T. and Emilia (Janni) Stadick. She attended District No. 68 Country School in Sigel Township, Brown County. On Oct. 16, 1934 she married Joseph W. Tauer at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. After marriage they farmed on the home place in Sigel Township, Brown County, until 1968. After the death of her husband, she moved into New Ulm where she was very active in quilting at the parish center, also weekly quilting at her home with ladies coming to help. She also taught sewing to the 4-H groups in Sigel Township, Brown County, as well as entering and winning baking contests. She enjoyed square dancing, bowling, bingo and playing cards. Jennie had been a resident of the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye since 1996. The family prefers memorials to the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye or to the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and the Christian Mothers Society. Edwin Moldan, 76, of Comfrey, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at the Springfield Medical Center. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. A parish prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. A complete obituary will be published in a future edition. John 'Jack' Harens, 60, of Henderson, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at home. Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Jessenland Township, Sibley County, with burial in the church cemetery with military honors. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and one hour before the services Saturday at the church. Arrangements are handled by Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington. He is survived by his wife, Lois of Henderson; daughters, Renee Garfunkel of Norwood/YoungAmerican, Barb Telthoester of Henderson; sons, Bruce Harens of Mankato; sisters, Mary Riley of Liberty, Mo., Carol Voigt of Glencoe, Sharon Shepherd of Eagle River, Alaska, and Eunice Johnson of Savage; and seven grandchildren.
