   Lola McDermott, 47, of Springfield, and formerly of Westbrook, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at New Ulm Medical Center Hospital.
   Services are pending with Westbrook Funeral Home, Westbrook.

   Helen A. Torgerson, 92 of Madelia died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Lutheran Memorial Home in Madelia.
   Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal with burial in Lake Crystal Cemetery.
   Visitation is at Zion Lutheran Church on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services.
   Arrangements were handled by Mankato Mortuary.
   She is survived by sons, Virgil Torgerson, Harold Torgerson and wife Kathryn of Madelia; daughter-in-law, Gladys Torgerson of North Mankato; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Voit of Windom and Louis Jarmer of Brewster.
   She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981; a son; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; two brothers; and three sisters.
   She was born Aug. 7, 1906, in Palo, Iowa, to Frank and Kate (Kese) Kopesta. On April 28, 1925 she married Benny A. Torgerson in Jackson. They farmed in the Madelia area for many years. He died in 1981. She continued to live on the farm until 1991, when she moved into Madelia. In 1993 she moved into the Luther Memorial Home. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she had been active in the ladies organizations.

   Irene Jones, 88, of Lake Crystal died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Lake Crystal Health Care Center.
   Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church , Butternut, with burial in the Butternut Cemetery.
   Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
   She is survived by sons, Alan and wife Judy Jones of rural Lake Crystal, Lee and wife Patricia Jones of Tamarac, Fla.; daughters Muriel and husband Robert Parker of Deland, FL, Ailene and Daune Anderson of Payson, AZ; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters Laura Groth of Corte Madera, CA, Sylvia Nokes and husband Francis of Webster City, IA, Lillian Peterson of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Phyllis Lynch of Clarks Grove, Vivian Vandorf and husband Henry "Hank" of Lake Crystal; nephews, nieces and cousins.
   She was preceded in death by her husband Corris in 1987; two brothers; three sisters.
   She was born Jan. 5, 1911 in Lake Crystal to Ludewig and Sarah (Larson) Hanson. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School. She married Corris Jones on May 6, 1931 in Lake Crystal. She was a homemaker and member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

   Mary A. Eischen, 84, of West Union, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999 at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.
   Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. today, at St. Alexius Catholic Church in West Union with burial in the parish cemetery.
   Visitation is 8-10 a.m. today at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre.
   She is survived by two children, John Eischen and wife, Cindy of Osakis, Mary Kay Scinocca and husband, Frank of Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada; two grandchildren, Paul and Angela Scinocca.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund on June 2, 1992, three brothers, George Schloegl, Jr. Albert and Christopher Schloegl.
   She was born on June 26, 1914 in Sleepy Eye, to George and Anna (Helget) Schloegl. She married Edmund D. Eischen on May 27, 1941 at St. Mary' s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple farmed in Mulligan Township, Brown County until retiring in 1976 and moving to West Union. She was a member of St. Alexius Catholic Church in West Union and St. Ann's Christian Mothers.

   Donald Korsmo, 74, of Franklin, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999 at New Ulm Medical Center.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Lutheran Church in Camp Township, Renville County with burial in Hauges Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-8 a.m. Saturday at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax, and continues one hour before the service at the church.
   He is survived by his sister, Eunice Kvam and husband, Willard of Fairfax; niece, Brenda Dallman and her husband, Larry of Fairfax, nephew Randy Kvam and wife Ingerid of Franklin, great-nieces and a great-nephew.
   He was born on Aug. 1, 1924 in Cairo Township, Renville County to Arthur and Bernice (Semerud) Korsmo. He attended school in Camp Township. He lived and farmed on the Korsmo family century farm for most of his life. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Camp Township where he was head usher, a trustee, former council vice-president and a member of the Hauge Cemetery committee.
