   Minnie (Min) Christilaw , 94, of Brooklyn Center and formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
   She was buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
   She is survived by daughters, Mary and husband Gene Logan of Brooklyn Center, Patricia Shanklin of Overland Park, Kan. and Frances and husband Bill Powell of Menomonie, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; sister, Eleanor; and brothers, George and Alfred.
   She was born Feb. 27, 1905, to John and Ida (Bender) Gewerth. She was raised in New Ulm and graduated from high school in 1923. She graduated from the Collegiate Business Institute of Minneapolis in 1924 and then worked at the Eagle Roller Mill in New Ulm from 1924-1935. She belonged to the Junior Pioneers, Brown County Historical Society and Congregational Church. She married George M. Christilaw on May 30, 1935. They lived in Askov for one year and in Duluth for almost 10 years. In 1946, she and her husband moved to Owatonna. She worked as an executive secretary at Josten's for 13 years. She moved to Alterra Assisted Living in Brooklyn Park in 1994. She was a member of Eastern Star.

   Dale Frederiksen, 65, of Clements, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Springfield Medical Center.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Morgan, with burial in the city cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
   He is survived by his children, Brad and wife Laurie of Minneapolis, Cynthia Gardner and husband Jim of Shorewood, Holli DeShane and husband Don of Suisun, Calif., Collene Landgren and husband Lester of Pipestone, Julie Baker and husband David of Lakeville, Chris and wife Beth of Eagan, Karen Schulz and husband Tim of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Eric of Burnsville; 12 grandchildren; sister, Janice Schultz and husband Russell of Alexandria; brothers, David and wife Eleanor of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Duane and wife Sandy of Maple Grove; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Johnny.
   He was born April 24, 1934, in Brookville Township, Redwood County, to Richard and Hazel (Gilland) Frederiksen. He attended country school and graduated from Morgan High School in 1952. He farmed near Dawson and later in the Clements area . He served as treasurer and in other offices at St. John Lutheran Church, Morgan.

   Verne Haynes, 68, of Madelia, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Madelia Community Hospital.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial at Riverside Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m today at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church.
   He is survived by his wife, Erva; sons, Gene and wife Annette of Hanska, Brad and wife Amy, and Jim and wife Sommer, all of Madelia; daughters, Lori Miller of Madelia, Julie Hannan and husband Kevin of Louisville, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Lavonne Sartorius of Rapid City, S.D., Lois Hultgren and husband Harland of St. James, Karen Hayes and husband Andre of Las Vegas, Nev., and Glenice Henderson and husband Ronn of Bella Vista, Ark; and many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents.
   He was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Pine City to Harry and Emma (Karas) Haynes. He grew up in the Comfrey area and attended school there. He married Erva Mickelson on March 15, 1953, in Comfrey. They lived in Madelia where he worked as a self-employed trucker and later formed Haynes and Sons Trucking, Inc. He retired in 1999. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

   Otto 'Scotty' Koch, 64, of rural Hanska, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at his home.
   A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church in rural Hanska with burial at a later date.
   Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church.
   Firle Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

   Evelyn Bode, 85, of 314 N. Highland Ave., New Ulm and formerly of Courtland, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at New Ulm Medical Center.
   Service are 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, with burial in the Church Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
