Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the Union Congregational Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Thursday. She is survived by her husband Donn Bruess of rural Sleepy Eye; daughter Sandy Bruess and her fiance Peter Macho, both of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, William "Bill" and Mary Bruess of Minneapolis, and Steve and JoDene Bruess of International Falls; grandchildren, Tara, Tyler, Trevor, Talia, Kayla, Alex, Morgan, Rae, Ariel and Taylor. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Klein in 1954. She was born July 5, 1935 in Sleepy Eye to Neil and Inez (Somerville) Klein. She was raised by her maternal grandparents Dr. William and Pearl Rounds from the age of two. She was a 1953 graduate of Sleepy Public High School. She married Donn Bruess on Aug. 3, 1957, at Union Congregational Church in Sleepy Eye. She worked at 1st Security Bank in Sleepy Eye. She was a past member and Worthy Matron of the Sleepy Eye Order of the Eastern Star, a past member and president of the Sleepy Eye Mrs. Jaycees, and a past member of the Sleepy Eye Modern Study. She was a current member of the Union Congregational Church in Sleepy Eye and a circle member at the church. Myldred C. Matz, 94, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, in a Waterloo nursing home. She was the mother of Roger Matz of Stewartville, Minn., and formerly of New Ulm. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in the Garden of Memories. Parrott and Wood Funeral Home, Waterloo, is in change of arrangements. Other survivors include son, Jerry of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. George 'Dutch' Fox, 72, of Sanborn, died Feb. 21, 1999 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn. There will be a full military rites at St. Thomas Catholic Church by the Colburn American Legion Post 286 of Sanborn with burial in the City Cemetery of Sanborn at a later date. Visitation is 4:30-8 p.m.today and 7:30-8 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and continues for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield on Tuesday. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Fox, of Sanborn, children, Theresa Pankonin of Eagan, Guy and wife Jeanne Fox of Inver Grove Heights, Leta Fox of Eden Prairie, Mary and husband Tom Steinle of Rosemount, Julie and husband Calvin Havercamp of Farmington, Paul and wife Dianna Fox of Savage, John and wife Sheila Fox of Hutchinson; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandson, brother, Leander and wife Christine Fox of Kirkland, Wash., sisters, Iona Retke of Princeton, Anna Mae and husband Virgil Norcutt of Sanborn, Eulalie and husband Orvie Kircher of Sanborn. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leo Jr. Otis, Ephriam, Elmo and LeRoy. He was born on Feb. 4, 1927 in Stately Township, Brown County to Leo Sr. and Katherine (May) Fox. He graduated from Sanborn Public School in 1946. He served in the U.S. military SFC 40th Infantry Division in Korea. On Feb. 14, 1955, he married Joyce Marie Timm at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn. He was a shop foreman for Fox Brothers Garage, and he operated George's Supper Club. During his semi-retirement he was employed by Gramstad's Lumber. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Colburn American Legion Post 286 in Sanborn. Lorraine Kellogg, 86, of Sleepy Eye, died on Feb. 21, 1999 at Sleepy Eye. Services are 1:30 p.m., Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church, Sleepy Eye with burial in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye. Visitation is 5-7 p.m Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye and continues one and a half hours prior to the service at the church. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Edna Narveson and Neva Trulson, both of Chatfield and Joyce Eickhoff of Glenwood; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Rudolph in 1978, sisters; Hulda Martin, Leona Case, and Irene Theel, and brothers, Leonard Eickhoff and Laverne Eickhoff. She was born on Oct. 18, 1912 in Fillmore County, the daughter of John and Amanda (Winter) Eickhoff. She grew up and attended school in Chatfield. She married Rudolph T. Kellogg on May 8, 1946 in Sioux Falls. They lived in Sleepy Eye. She worked as a clerk in Stadick Drug for 20 years, retiring in 1975. She had lived at Divine Providence since August of 1998. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sleepy Eye and a past member of the Ladies Aid. Selma E. Fimon, 87, died Feb. 14, 1999, at Hutchinson Hospital. Services were held Feb. 18 at Faith Presbyterian Church, Silver Lake with burial in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Rich Valley Township, McLeod County. She is survived by sister-in-law, Martha Oliver of California; and brother-in-law, Edward Ondrachek of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by husband, Anthony; sister, Adelia Monson; and brothers, George, Arthur and William Zarn. She was born March 29, 1912, to Fred and Martha (Hamann) Zarn in South Branch Township, Watonwan County. She attended school in New Ulm, and she worked at the New Ulm Laundry. She married Anthony Fimon on July 6, 1954, at the New Ulm Evangelical Reform Church. They farmed in rural Hutchinson. She was a member of ZCBJ Lodge, Faith Presbyterian Church and Mariners Club. Arlo Brudeli, 85, of Hanska died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999 at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hanska. He is survived by his sister, Gertie Nelson, of the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato; nephews, Keith Nelson of North Mankato, Kenny and his wife Marcella Solberg of New Ulm; niece Judith and her husband Richard Vee also of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Solberg and Ruth Oren; and niece, Sherrene Milbrandt. He was born on Dec. 23, 1913, in Hanska to Anton and Gina (Asleson) Brudeli. He lived and worked on the family farm in rural Hanska. He became a resident of the Lake Crystal Health Care Center on Nov. 5, 1996. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska. Adelheid Mogensen, 92, of Evan died Feb. 20, 1999 at Houston, Texas. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Lutheran Church in Evan with burial in the Prairieville Cemetery, Evan. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye and continues for one hour prior to the service at the church. She is survived by her son, Richard Mogensen of Bay City, Texas; brother-in-law, Harold Renner of Springfield; sister-in-law, Dorothy Geschwind of Sleepy Eye and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur in 1989; daughter Delaine in 1998; brothers, Charles, C.F. "Bud" and John and sisters, Margery Renner and Coletha Renner. She was born on Jan. 17, 1907, in Sleepy Eye to John P. and Margery (MacMaster) Geschwind. She from high school in Sleepy Eye. After graduation she attended Normal Training and taught school. She married Arthur L. Mogensen on July 16, 1932 in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Evan where they owned and operated the Mogensen General Store. After her husband's death, she lived in Evan with her son, Dick in the summer, spending winters with her daughter, Delaine in New Ulm. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Evan.
