Clarence Dagner, 79, of Lamberton, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000 at Springfield Medical Center, Springfield. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lamberton, with burial at Lamberton Cemetery. Military rites by the Andrew Peterson American Legion Post 41, Lamberton. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton, and one hour prior to services at the church. He is survived by his sister Leona Anderson of Lamberton; sister-in-law Dagmar Dagner of Lamberton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and nine sisters. He was born June 11, 1920 in Lamberton, to Herman and Martha (Boelke) Dagner. He grew up and attended school in Lamberton, graduating from Lamberton High School. He entered the U.S. Army in Oct. 1942 and served during WWII until he was honorably discharged in Sept. 1945. He worked as a carpenter and built grain bins in the Lamberton area for many years. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Andrew Peterson American Legion in Lamberton for 54 years. Kristi Crowley, 43, of Madelia, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000 at her home. Mass of Christian burial is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Social Hall and 9-10:15 a.m. Saturday. Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will appear in a future edition.
