Francis Leonard, 52, of 1615 N. Franklin St., New Ulm, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000 at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin at a later date. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 - 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Mary Leonard of New Ulm; daughter, Anne Marie Leonard, stationed in Bremerton, Wash. with the U.S. Navy; sons, Paul Francis Leonard of Mankato, Joseph Michael Leonard of New Ulm; and his twin sister, Mary Ellen Leonard of Prairie du Sac, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was born Nov. 28, 1947 in Fond du Lac, Wis. to Francis L. and Mary M. (Dullea) Leonard. He graduated from the St. Mary's Springs Academy in Fond du Lac, in 1966. He married Mary Buch on Oct. 16, 1971, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. He graduated in 1975 from the Wisconsin State University in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with a B.S. Degree in psycology. After graduating from college he was employed at the Mental Health Center in Fond du Lac. Later they moved to Menomonie, Wis. and he received his Master's Degree in Psycology. They moved to New Ulm in August 1987. He was a school psycologist for 12 1/2 years for the Riverbend Education District 6049 based out of New Ulm. He was a member of the Cathedral of Holy Trinity in New Ulm and a past member of the Minnesota School Psycologist Association and the National Association of School Psycologists. Elmer Swanson, 89, of Fairfax, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000 at Fairfax Community Nursing Home. Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Fairfax, with burial in Ft. Ridgely and Dale Cemetery, Camp Township, Renville County. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 8-11 a.m. Monday at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Fairfax, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. He is survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ilah Roebke of Hector, Margaret Bleck of Fairfax, Ken Weikle and wife Delores of Fairfax, Ray Weikle of Fairfax, Florence Lee of Los Altos, Calif., Gail Hatley and husband Lowell of Seattle; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Sena Swanson; and his wife Orda. He was born Nov. 12, 1910, in Osloe Township, Mountrail County, N.D., to Peter and Sena (Ellevold) Swanson. He grew up in Plaza, N.D. where he attended school. He married Orda G. Weikle on Dec. 29, 1953 in Fairfax. The couple moved to Plaza, N.D., where they farmed. They divided their time between Plaza and Fairfax, until their retirement in 1968. He lived at Fairview Apartments, Fairfax, before moving to Fairfax Community Nursing Home in March 1996. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Fairfax. Warren Lee, of Petaluma, Calif., formerly of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000 in Petaluma. A memorial service for friends and family will be held in June. Private burial will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Donations preferred to the National Kidney Foundation Inc. Nelson Funeral Service, Redwood Falls, is in charge of the arrangements. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Wayne Hovdesven of Petaluma; son Richard of Sioux Falls, S.D.; granddaughter Kristen Hovdesven of Sonoma, Calif.; grandson Erik Hovdesven of Spokane, Wash.; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Robert Anderson of Tulsa, Okla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy. He was born Dec, 8, 1914 in Villard, Minn., to Clyde and Nellie (Clemens) Lee. He attended Villard Schools and graduated from the University of Minnesota Chiropractic College and Northwestern College of Chiropractic. He married Dorothy Ann Sharp on July 2, 1942 in St. Charles, Mo. They lived in St. Paul. After serving in the Army, he established a chiropractic practice in Redwood Falls, which he maintained for 36 years until his retirement in 1982. He developed the Activator Methods chiropractic technique and innovation equipment, such as the Activator adjusting instrument and an adjusting table designed for his adjustment technique. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Minnesota and served as Grand Master Mason. Blanche Biebl, 82, of Gibbon died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in New Braunfels, Texas. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon, with burial in the Clear Lake Lutheran Cemetery in Cornish Township, Sible County. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon, and one hour prior services at the church. She is survived by her husband, Howard Biebl of Gibbon; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Bill Pierce of Bloomington; sons and daughters-in-law, Noel and Jan Biebl of Roseville, and Jonathan and Laura Biebl of St. Paul; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters. She was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Gibbon to Clifford and Lillian(Nelson) Benson. She graduated from the Gibbon High School in 1935 and from the University of Minnesota in 1939 with a degree in Library Science. She married Howard Bieble on Jan. 7, 1941 in Nicollet. They lived in Nicollet for year and then moved to Gibbon. Blanche helped Howard run the Bieble Drug Store in Gibbon for almost 50 years. She also spent many years working on the Regional Library Board and with the Bloodbank in her spare time. She was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon.
