Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002, at the St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County, with burial in the church cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, and will continue for one hour prior to the time of the service at the church on Saturday, March 2, 2002. The Knights of Columbus St.Patrick's Council 1076 will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Otto is survived by his wife Bonnie Reitter of Las Vegas; daughters and son-in-law, Terry and Bill Biles and Anne Reitter and her special friend, Steve Rosen all of Las Vegas; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Diane Reitter of Forest Lake; and three grandchildren, Andrea, Nicholas, and Matthew Reitter; also by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland and Marie Reitter, and Floyd and DeEtte Reitter; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Marvin Altmann. Otto was born on Sept. 30, 1918, in Redwood County to Wenzel and Julia (Macho) Reitter. He attended schools in St. George and New Ulm. Otto served in the United States Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946. On May 2, 1949, he married Bonnie Epple at the St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. After marriage he farmed in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. He later worked as a security guard at Kraft Foods in New Ulm until retiring in 1983. He has lived in Las Vegas since 1997. He was a life time member of the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post 132, a member of the Kraft Retirees Organization, the St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County and the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Las Vegas. The family prefers memorials to the American Heart Foundation. James E. Turnblad, 37, of Rt. 2, Nicollet, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at United Hospital in St. Paul. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Connie Turnblad of rural Nicollet; parents, Randolph and Dorothy Turnblad of New Ulm; maternal grandfather, Gregor Kutz of New Ulm; sisters, Lucinda Wickman of Little Canada, and Leah Turnblad of New Ulm; brothers, William Turnblad of North Branch, Brian Turnblad of White Bear Lake, and Robert Turnblad of New Ulm. He was born Jan. 11, 1965, in Stillwater to Randolph and Dorothy (Kutz) Turnblad. Deane W. Benton, 87, formerly of New Ulm died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Paul Kjolstad, 84, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and formerly of Hanska, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Prince of Peace Retirement Community in Sioux Falls, S.D. Arrangements are pending with Firle Funeral Home in Hanska. Sophia Schrupp, 98, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wood Lake, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Redwood Valley Funeral Home. She is survived by her daughter Virginia Korman; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Herman Schlemmer of Milwaukee, Wis.
