Oliver Anderson , 89, of Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Sleepy Eye Hospital. Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. Karen Kastner of Comfrey, MN, died on March 1, 2004. Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5th, with a time of remembrance and prayer service at 7:00 p.m. There will be a Rosary on Saturday morning at 9:45 a.m. at the church followed by one hour of visitation. The funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Comfrey with burial following in the Catholic Cemetery. Karen was born in Coal City, Illinois, on April 11, 1949, to Armella (Krzmarzick) and Alton Kastner. Following graduation from high school, she attended Mankato University and worked for twenty years for the Santa Fe Railroad in Chicago, occasionally serving as an engineer. In 1980, she moved to her great-grandparent's homestead in Mulligan Township near Comfrey. She worked at AUI in Sleepy Eye until 1994. Karen lived on the homestead until her death. She enjoyed reading (mysteries and world history),gardening, collecting antiques, auctions, and her cats, especially Boots, Spike, Bentley, Callie and Paint. Karen also enjoyed visiting with her friends, using the e-mail, shopping and eating out -- especially Chinese food or sauerkraut. Karen is survived by her aunt and uncle, Rosella (Kastner) and Ed Kroenke, several cousins and many good friends. She will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her. The family prefers memorials to the donor's choice in lieu of flowers. Clergy will be Father Todd Peterson, Sister Sharon Nohner. Condolences may be sent via e-mail at www.sturmfh.com Marvin Loffelmacher , 69, of rural Fairfax, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Glencoe Regional Health Services Hospital in Glencoe. Funeral arrangements are pending with the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
