   Dennis V. Sandmann, 77, of Rt. 1, New Ulm, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at the New Ulm Medical Center.
   Arrangements are pending with Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm.

   Mercedes Mosser, 73, of Madelia died Monday, March 1, 1999 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
    Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Madelia.
   Visitation is 5 - 8 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia and continues one hour before the service Saturday at the church. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home of New Ulm is in charge of arrangements.
   She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Mark Klinkner of rural St. James; sons and daughters in law, Roger and Celina Mosser of rural Madelia, Douglas and Debra Mosser of Bloomington; grandchildren, Denise, Jennifer, Larry and Lyle Klinkner, and Nathan Mosser; a stepgrandson, Aaron Hutchison; sister, Harlys Peterson of Jackson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Kathleen Mosser of Madelia; three nephews and three nieces.
    She was preceded in death by husband, Everett Mosser on May 24, 1998; and a daughter, Barbara Mosser on June 16, 1969.
   She was born on June 12, 1925 in Madelia to Hans and Bertha (Petersen) Peterson. She attended St. James High School. Before her marriage she worked at a St. James Restaurant. She married Everett Mosser on Feb. 8, 1948 in St. James. They farmed in Madelia Township, Watonwan County until 1991 when they moved into Madelia. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia and its circle. She had been a member of the S & R Club in Madelia.

   Lois H. Gurgel, 75 of Mankato died Tuesday March 2, 1999 at St. Peter Community Hospital.
   Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mankato Mortuary with burial in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.
   She is survived by husband, Pastor Roland A. Gurgel; daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Dennis Wendland of Cottonwood, Ariz., Kathleen and Omar Olmanson of Mankato, Ruth Ann and Mark Bernthal of Saginaw, Mich., Deborah and John Ude of Fridley, Bethany and Perry Dauer of Nicollet; sons and daughters-in-law,Paul and Barbara Gurgel of Eau Claire, Wis., John and Cathy Gurgel of Seaside, Ore., Daniel Gurgel of Tampa, Fla., Pastor Roland H. Gurgel of New Ulm; 45 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Doris Bauer of Kenosha, Wis.
   She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
   She was born Sept. 23, 1923 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Henry and Helen (Thurow) Bauer. She graduated from Milwaukee High School. She married Roland A. Gurgel on Oct. 28, 1945 in Milwaukee. She was a homemaker and was employed as a department store clerk for 13 years. She lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Arizona, and Wyoming before retiring to Mankato. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Eagle Lake.

    Mathilda 'Tillie' Rosenfeld Reddemann, 91 of Arlington died Wednesday, March 3, 1999 at Glencoe Area Health Care Center.
   Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington with burial in St. John's of New Rome Cemetery in Kelso Township, Sibley County.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by husband, Ahle in 1987, brothers, William, Hilton, and Erwin Rosenfeld; sisters, Gertrude Bogatzki, Esther Schauer, Lillian Thies.
   She was born Dec. 27, 1907 in Wood Lake to William and Mathilda (Schmidt) Rosenfeld. She attended Christian Day School in Posen Township and later St. Paul's Lutheran School when the family moved to a farm south of Arlington. She married Ahle Reddemann on June 26, 1932 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. They farmed in Kelso Township until retiring in 1976 and moving to town. She was a member of Golden Age, was a caretaker of St. John's of New Rome Cemetery.

   Edna Root, 84 of Redwood Falls died Monday, March 1, 1999 at Redwood Falls Hospital.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law Thomas and Collette Root of Ogden, Utah, James Root of Willmar; step-daughter Donna Hicks Inglis and husband Stephen; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Verna Olson of Waconia, Dorothy King of Brookings, S.D.; brother and sister-in-law Douglas and Betty Russell of Dehli.
   She was preceded in death by husband, Richard in 1973; infant son John Richard; brother Howard Russell.
   She was born Sept. 6, 1914 in Kintire Township, Redwood County to William and Alma (Wolverton) Russell. She grew up on the family farm near Dehli and graduated from Redwood Falls High School. She continued her education at the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis and received a degree in bookkeeping. She returned to Redwood Falls, working as a bookkeeper for Farmers Lumber Yard until she married Richard Root in 1944. They continued to live in Redwood Falls where she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron and Patron in 1958. She was also a member of the Sorosis Study Club and served as its president. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the Redwood Falls Medical Clinic until 1984. She entered Johnson Park Place in 1997, moving to Sunwood Good Samaritan Nursing Home in 1998.

   Edna Podratz, 87, formerly of Gibbon died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at Arlington Municipal Hospital in Arlington. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon.

   Wesley Kassuelke, 96, of New Ulm died Wednesday, March 3, 1999 at New Ulm Medical Center .
   Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
