   Dorothy Dorothy, 83, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at Madelia Community Hospital.
   Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Madelia Church of Christ with burial in the Riverside Cemetery, Madelia.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia and also one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
   She is survived by her husband, Gordon; daughters Karen and John Rusten of Glencoe, Kathleen and Robert Row of Bedford, Ind., Denise and Brad Kuebler of St. James; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mavis Johnson in Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Jean Clarke of Kirkland, Wash.
   She was preceded in death by an infant son, three brothers and one sister.
   She was born on Dec. 16, 1916, to Adam and Florence (Burrill) Clarke in Plymouth County, Iowa. She grew up first in LeMars, Iowa and in rural Truman. She married Gordon Dorothy on Sept. 30, 1938 in Estherville, Iowa. They farmed in rural Madelia for three years, rural Truman until 1946 and then returned to rural Madelia. They retired into town in 1981. She was a member of the Madelia Church of Christ, Ladies Council and Sunday School teacher. She belonged to the Madelia Hospital Auxiliary and Fieldon Ladies Group.
   

   LeRoy Briest, 72, of Gaylord, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley Township, rural Gaylord.
   Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, and continues one hour before services at the church.

   Dennis Salfer, 56, of Wabasso, died Sunday, March 3, 2000, at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park.
   Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Wabasso, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso, and continues one hour before services Wednesday.
   Kulow Funeral Service of Echo is in charge of arrangements.

   Marvin H. Schroeder, 86, of Winthrop, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Arlington Hospital.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel in Mankato with burial in the Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and continues one hour before services.
   He is survived by his wife, Rosemary "Mary"; daughter and son-in-law, Marvis and Ken Waterbury of Mankato; daughter-in-law, Eunice Schroeder of Montevideo; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, James, Timothy, Robert and Steven; brothers, Allen and Earl; and one sister-in-law, Helen.
   He was born on Jan. 3, 1914, to Edward and Louise (Ulrich) Schroeder in Niagara, Wis. His family later moved to the Minneapolis area. He attended Woodlake High School. He opened the V. & M. Grill in Mankato, when he was 22. In 1959 he married Rosemary LaVonn (Leifermann) in Montevideo. They owned and operated the Highway Cafe and Drive-Inn in Montevideo and the Country Drive-Inn in Winthrop. He retired in 1974. He was a former Montevideo Chamber of Commerce President and a member of the Lions Club. He belonged to golf clubs in Montevideo and Winthrop.

   Ottilie 'Tillie' Meffert, 86, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran in Arlington with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington and continues one hour before services at the church.
   She is survived by her husband, Alvin Meffert of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Bill Meline of Minnetonka, son, Walter Meffert of San Martin, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death her parents; five brothers; two sisters; and nieces and nephews.
   She was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Dryden Township, rural Arlington, to Edward and Emma (Vieregge) Pomplum. She married Alvin Meffert on Oct. 8, 1940, in Spring Valley. She was a homemaker and ran a hatchery on the farm. She was active in St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington Township and St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington. She taught Sunday school at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington, belonged to Ladies Aid and sang in the choir. She was a member of AAL. She belonged to a square dance club.
