Geraldine 'Goldie' Dallmann, 79 of St. Peter, and formerly of Nicollet, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at the St. Peter Healthcare Center in St. Peter. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Nicollet. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 - 10 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Saturday. Goldie is survived by her daughters, Virginia "Suzie" Dill of New Ulm, and Jessie Sanchez of Inver Grove Heights; a son, William "Bill" Dallmann and his fiancée Darcy Christensen, both of New Ulm; grandchildren, Lisa Meinzer, Nevada McGee, Westley Dill, Regina Dallmann, Andrea Dallmann, Jarod Dallmann, James Dallmann and William Dallmann Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law Charles and Ruth Rivers of Lipan, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hugo Dallmann on Dec. 29, 1997; a son-in-law, Raymond Sanchez in 2001; one brother; and one sister. Goldie was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Port Arthur, Texas, to William C. and Laura N. (Cathy) Rivers. She attended Polytechny High School in Fort Worth, Texas. She married Hugo Dallmann on Nov. 15, 1946, in Norwood, Iowa. After marriage they moved to Nicollet, where she worked various jobs in the Nicollet area including eight years at the Schmidt's Meat Market in Nicollet. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet and the Nicollet American Legion Auxiliary for 35 years, where she was a past president and secretary. Violet Leske, 85, of rural Hector, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at Bird Island Manor Healthcare Center. Services are 2 p.m., Saturday, March 8, at Swedlanda Lutheran Church, rural Hector, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home, Hector. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Hopp of Olivia, Marvin Jr. of St. Bonifacius and June Mertz of Olivia; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brother, Arnold Johnson of Woodland, Wash., and a sister, Elaine Larges of Baltimore, Md. She was born June 26, 1917, in Palmyra Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to Emil and Augusta (Anderson) Johnson. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home of Hector. Hazel Moll, 81 of Longville, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Monday, March 3, 2003, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2003, at Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, with Pastor Donn Rakow officiating. Interment will be in the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m., today and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., Friday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Friday. Hazel was born on Nov. 19, 1921, in Kenyon, the daughter of Elsie (Tews) and William Koberstein. She grew up in Sleepy Eye, where she attended District 36 country school, the same school all of her children attended. On August 26, 1939, Hazel was united in marriage to Harold Moll at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Sleepy Eye. This union was blessed with eight children. They farmed in the Sleepy Eye area until 1978, when they retired and moved to Longville. Hazel also worked at the Del Monte Corporation and in area residential homes as a nurse's aide. She was active in her church's ladies group, Bible study, and served many years as a Sunday school teacher. Hazel's happiest times were when she was surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Harold Moll of Brainerd; children, Duane and wife Bonnie Moll of Plymouth, Kenneth and wife Evonne Moll of St. James, Dale Moll of Holdingford, Leon Moll of Lino Lakes, Norma Hudson of Little Falls, and Ronda and husband Brian Mathiowetz of Sleepy Eye; 25 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Janet; and a daughter, Lila. Eleanor Otto, 77, of rural Arlington, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at her home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington with burial in Gaylord Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday, and 7:30-8:30 a.m., Saturday, at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service. A complete obituary will appear in a later edition. Byron A. Tessmer, 73, of Cobden, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. Funeral arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
