   Florence M. Drexler, age 93, of Springfield, MN died on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN.
   Visitation will be Sunday, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN. There will be a Parish Prayer Sevice on Sunday evening at 5:30 PM at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and a CCW Rosary on Monday at 9:30 AM at St. Rapael's Catholic Church in Springfield, MN. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Raphael's Catholic Church on Monday, March 10, 2003 at 10:00 AM with Father Dennis Labat officiating. Interment will be in St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery in Springfield, MN.
   Florence was born April 17, 1909 in Sundown Township in Redwood County to John and Amelia (Rothmeier) Groebner. She attended country school and helped her parents on the farm. On September 19, 1933 she married Valerius Drexler at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clements, MN. Florence participated in St. Joan and St. Raphael Mission Groups, was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield, a member of the 500 Marathon Club, Sheep Head Club and Senior Citizens Club. She was the Senior Citizens Club Secretary for 2 years, worked with Home Aid for 19 years as a Senior Citizen Driver, cared for the Sanctuary for 9 years, belonged to the Lady Foresters, St. Boniface Society, and was a member of the CCW. She enjoyed making quilts,playing cards, gardening, and playing Bingo.
   She is survived by her 2 daughters - Rose and husband Steven Hendley of Cleveland, MN and Mary Ann Harter of Port St. Louis, FL; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a brother - Anthony and wife Teresa Groebner of Clements, MN; 3 sisters -Adeline and husband Adolph Nelson of Clements, MN, Eldora and husband Robert Kraemer of St. Paul, MN, and Irene Culhane of Minneapolis, MN; and a sister- in-law - Arlene Groebner of Springfield, MN.
   She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Valerius (Larry) Drexler; a daughter - Carol Germaine Drexler; a great grandson; 2 brothers - Henry Groebner and Leo and wife Eleanor Groebner; 2 sisters - Veroncia and husband John Gostonczik, and Lucy and husband George Mesinger; and a brother-in-law - Joseph Culhane.
   Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

   Arthur J. Mathiowetz, 79, of Comfrey, MN, died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Springfield Medical Center in Springfield, MN.
   Services will be Monday, March 10, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs, Leavenworth, MN, with Fr. Todd Petersen officiating. Interment will be in Japanese Martyrs Cemetery, Leavenworth, MN
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday with a parish prayer service at 5 p.m., and on Monday, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., all at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, MN.
   Art was born on February 26, 1924 in rural Mulligan Township, Brown County, MN to Bard and Theresa (Reminger) Mathiowetz. He grew up and attended country school in Mulligan Township. After he completed his schooling, Art worked on the family farm. He married Winnifred Zwaschka on May 3, 1948 at St. Paul's in Comfrey. The couple farmed and operated a seed corn and trucking business until retiring. He was a life long member of the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. He served on several church and community boards. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, old time music, watching Vikings and Twins games and umpiring for various baseball and softball leagues.
   Art is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Winnifred; children; Linda Friesen of Comfrey, Mike and Cheryl Mathiowetz of Comfrey, Dale and Mary Mathiowetz of Fox Lake, IL and Renae and Bruce Lammers of New Ulm; grandchildren, Jeremy and Lindsay Friesen, Ryan Mathiowetz and fiance April, Dustin Mathiowetz, Katie, Josh and Megan Mathiowetz, brothers, Ethelbert and Agnes of Sleepy Eye, Tony and Phyllis of Hopkins, sister, Marie Cook of Sleepy Eye, sisters-in-law, Rose Nachreiner of Sleepy Eye, Ruth of Hastings, Mary of Sleepy Eye, Ida of Comfrey, Lucille of Springfield and Arlene Ebilsisor of Sleepy Eye. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sharon, sister, Theresa Nachreiner, brothers, Raymond, Wendelin, Ambrose, Alfred, Joseph, Leo and Leonard, brothers-in-law, Hugo Nachreiner and Wilfred Cook.

   Lorenz C. Sulflow, 77, of Madelia died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at his daughter's home near Waseca.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Salem Luthern Church, Madelia, with burial with full military honors in Riverside Cemetery, Madelia.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia, and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
   He is survived by daughters, Emma Lou Priem ofWasec, Debra Baumgard of Willow Creek, Cindy Sulflow of Patterson, Calif., and Jody Murillo of Hector; eight grandchildren; sisters, Doris Else and Sylvia Urban, both of Lewisville, and Lillian Maus of Madelia.
   He was born May 26, 1925, in Pleasant Mound Township, Blue Earth County, to Gustav and Emma (Kietzer) Sulflow.
   He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater from Dec. 4, 1944, to Nov. 18, 1946.
