   Arlene Kuehner , 81, of Minnetonka, formerly of New Ulm, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at her home in Minnetonka.
   A funeral service is pending in Minnetonka with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Details of local arrangements are pending with Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm.
   The family prefers memorials for the New Ulm arrangements.

   Grace O'Neill Weinstock , 99 of Lake Bluff, Ill, formerly of Comfrey, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at her home. Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey. Vera Weldy FAIRFAX -- Vera Weldy, age 95, of Fairfax, MN, a descendant of early Nicollet County pioneers, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the Fairfax Community Home.
   Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at 1:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Fairfax. Interment will be in Ft. Ridgely Cemetery in Ridgely Twp., Nicollet Co.
   Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m., and Tuesday from 7:30 - 11:30 a.m., at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax.
   Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church, on Tuesday.
   Vera Ione (LaFramboise) Weldy was born November 17, 1908, to William D. and Maude (Bundy) LaFramboise in Ridgely Twp, Nicollet Co., MN. Vera was a great-granddaughter of French fur trader and interpreter Joseph LaFramboise and a granddaughter of pioneer farmer William R. LaFramboise.
   Vera attended Ft. Ridgely country school and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1925. She attended Brandrup Commercial College in Mankato and was employed as a bookkeeper/stenographer for Dickmeyer Motor Company in Fairfax from 1927 until 1931; then for the State Bank of Storden from 1932 until 1934; and finally as a legal secretary for attorney Fred Gage in Fairfax, until her marriage.
   Vera was united in marriage to Lyle F. Weldy on August 18, 1935. The couple resided and farmed in Ridgely Twp., until retirement. They shared 47 years of marriage before Lyle passed away on February 7, 1983. Vera continued living on the home farm until entering the Sleepy Eye nursing home in 1991. She became a resident at the Fairfax Community Home on October 16, 1992.
   Vera was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fairfax, where she was active with the United Methodist Women group. She was also a member and leader of the Ridgely Twp. Extension service homemakers group, a 4-H leader and a volunteer leader of crafts groups, at the Fairfax Community Home. She was an accomplished pianist and was also a master of the art of crochet works, which she continued into her 90s.
   Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Blanche; two infant brothers; and son-in-law, Eugene Kramer.
   Vera is survived by her sons, Floyd Weldy of Fairfax, Jerry Weldy of Franklin, Clellan Weldy and Craig Weldy, both of Fairfax; daughters, Rita Kramer Joerg and her husband, David, of Preston, MN and Diane Arndt and her husband, David of Fairfax; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
