   Charlotte L. McCrea, 91, of 521 S. Washington in New Ulm died Sunday, March 7, 1999 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.
    Memorial services 10 a.m. Friday at the United Church of Christ in New Ulm with burial in the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
   Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
   Arrangements are handled by Minnesota Valley Funeral Home.
   She is survived by her daughter, Candace McCrea of Edina; brother, Bill Bockus and his wife Janet of Altadena, California; daughter-in-law, Ruth McCrea of New Ulm; grandchildren, Jyneal McCrea and her husband Mark Hofmann of New Ulm, Roberta McCrea and her husband Mark Wood of Bend, Ore., Jason McCrea and his wife Catherine Michmerhuizen of Broomfield, Colo., Jennie Backstrom and her husband Jan of New Ulm; and seven great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm "Scotty" McCrea in 1979; son, James McCrea in 1994; and brother, Gerald Bockus in 1975.
   She was born June 24, 1907 in Frazee, Minn., to Herman and Emma (Kimmerle) Bockus. She moved to New Ulm in 1921 and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1925. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1930. She lived in New Ulm, working o at the family business, New Ulm Grocery Company until 1972. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Sigma Kappa sorority.

   Rev. Edward Pfeifer, 90, died Sunday, March 7, 1999 at Wood Dale Nursing Home, Redwood Falls.
   Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in Olivia Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and at the church one hour prior to the service.
   He is survived by sons, Gary of Circle Pines, and Ordell and wife Loreen of Austin; daughters, Sherryl Anderson and husband Curt of Afton, and Ardyce Thompson and husband Jeffrey of Dawson; sisters, Laura Schafer and Estelle Jahnke; and 11 grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, on Oct. 22, 1998; brother, Walter Pfeifer; sisters Clara Manthei, Esther Kurtz, Luella Steinkamp and Mabel Kuglin.
   He was born Oct. 18, 1908, in Princeton, Wis. to Henry John and Ottelia (Keehl) Pfeifer. The family moved to Minnesota in 1909 and settled first in Olivia and later in Danube. He graduated from Danube High School in 1935. He married Viola Vera Fixsen on May 29, 1940. He graduated f rom Westmar College in 1939 and from Evangelical Theological Seminary in Naperville, Ill., in 1942. He served churches in Madison, Le Sueur, Le Center, Springfield, Redrock, Wells and Austin, before retiring in 1974, when he moved to Redwood Falls. During retirement he served as visitation pastor of the United Methodist Church and as interim pastor four times. He received the Redwood County Senior Citizen Award in 1981. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

   Kenneth D. Tischner, 59, died Monday, March 8, 1999 at his home of cancer.
   Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Good Thunder, with burial in St. John's Cemetery. There will be a 7:50 p.m. devotional Tuesday at the church.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. at Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home in Mapleton and at the church Wednesday one hour before the service.
   He is survived by his wife; daughters, Jennifer and husband Kevin Doyen of Truman, Amy and husband Bradley Schneeberger of Good Thunder, Catherine and husband Michael Jensen of Amboy, and Tammy and husband Shane Nagel of Mankato; brother, Dennis and wife Darlene (Habeck) Tischer of Good Thunder; sister, Jean and husband John Heuchert of New Ulm; six grandchildren; mother-in-law, Esther Habeck of Mapleton; brother-in-law, Darold Habeck and wife Bev of St. Peter; sisters-in-law and their husbands, Harriet (Habeck) and Norman Grunzke of Wells, and Charlotte (Habeck) and Robert Pahl of Vernon Center; and many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law.
   He was born Feb. 12, 1940 in Mankato to Clarence Carl and Verona (Gutenschwager) Tischer. He married Gloria Habeck on Oct. 20, 1961 in Waldorf. He was a member of the Lyra Township Board and St. John's Lutheran Church.

   Joni L. Johnson, 88, formerly of New Ulm died Monday March 8, 1999 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
   Funeral arrangements are pending with the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.

   Grant Christensen - Postponement. The funeral service for Grant Christensen, 59, of Sleepy Eye, has been postponed due to the weather.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
   The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Evan with burial in Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

   Verner Peterson, 86, of Hector, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
   Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector.
   VIsitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector; and continues one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
