Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield. Charles Hahn, 74, of Darwin, died Monday, March 8, 1999, at his home. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran church, Ellsworth Township, with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery (Mountville), Dryden Township, Sibley County. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Friday and 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson and continues one hour prior to services at the church. Charlotte L. McCrea, 91, of 521 S. Washington in New Ulm died Sunday, March 7, 1999 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. Memorial Service is 10 a.m. Friday at United Church of Christ in New Ulm with burial in the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes, New Ulm, handled arrangements. She is survived by her daughter, Candace McCrea of Edina; brother, Bill Bockus and his wife Janet of Altadena, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Ruth McCrea of New Ulm; grandchildren, Jyneal McCrea and her husband Mark Hofmann of New Ulm, Roberta McCrea and her husband Mark Wood of Bend, Ore., Jason McCrea and his wife Catherine Michmerhuizen of Broomfield, Colorado, Jennie Backstrom and her husband Jan of New Ulm; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm "Scotty" McCrea in 1979; son, James McCrea in 1994; and brother, Gerald Bockus in 1975. She was born June 24, 1907, in Frazee, Minn., to Herman and Emma (Kimmerle) Bockus. She moved to New Ulm in 1921 and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1925. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1930. She married Malcolm McCrea on Oct. 24, 1931, in New Ulm. They lived in New Ulm. She worked at the family business, New Ulm Grocery Company, off and on until 1972. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Sigma Kappa sorority. Joni Lyn Johnson, 88, (formerly Hildegarde Margaret Bieraugel) formerly of New Ulm died Monday March 8, 1999, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with a private burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation is one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Joni is survived by son and daughter-in-law, LaRay and Dianne Johnson of New Ulm; grandchildren, Larry Johnson and his wife Kathleen of New Ulm, Cindy Johnson of Gibbon, Daniel Johnson and his wife Jill of Lakeville, Michael Johnson of Buena Port, Calif.,, and Bradley Johnson and his wife Tammy of Corona, Calif.; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, Hayley Bocock; one brother,Harold "Brady" Bieraugel of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by sisters, Elsie Traurig, and Anne Bieraugel; one brother Edwin Bieraugel. She was born Aug. 8, 1910, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, to William and Anna (Gruber) Bieraugel. She attended Lafayette Township country school. She graduated from the Johnson Academy of Beauty Culture in Mankato in 1947. She later worked for Raftis Department Store in New Ulm as a cosmetic consultant for 12 years, and then she worked for Herberger's for six years. She lived at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield for 20 years. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.
