   Elmer Orth, 77, of 411 11th South, New Ulm, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at New Ulm Medical Center.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm, and continues one hour before the service at the church.

   Janice Roiger, 56, of Hutchinson died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at Hutchinson Community Hospital.
    Services were held Wednesday at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with burial in the church cemetery.
   She is survived by husband, Cliff Roiger of Hutchinson; daughters, Dawn Delgado and husband Jess of San Marcos, Texas, Darla Wilde and husband Doug of San Angelo, Texas, Danneen Johnson and husband Daryl of Cokato; sons, Donald and wife Laurie of Princeton, Daryl Roiger and wife Susan of Hutchinson; seven granddaughters; one great-grandson; mother, Dorothy Westerlund of Lamberton; sister Vivian MaKarrall and husband Ronald of St. Cloud; brothers, Duane Westurlund and wife Marilyn of San Antonio, Texas, Dean Westerlund and wife Kristi of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and mother-in-law Margaret Roiger of Lamberton.
   She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Westerlund.
   She was born June 14, 1942 in Lamberton to Nells Oscar and Dorothy (Herberg) Westerlund. She graduated from Lamberton High School in 1960. She married Clifford Roiger on Nov. 11, 1961 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton. They lived in St. James before moving to Hutchinson in 1968. She was employed at 3M in Hutchinson.

   George A. Volz, 82, formerly of New Ulm died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at Divine Providence Home in Sleepy Eye.
   Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by New Ulm veterans organizations.
   Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 5 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
   He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann Volz and Sam Edwards of Wasilla, Alaska; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Laura Volz of Culver City, Calif., Bruce Volz and Sarah Pringle of Northampton, Mass.; son-in-law, Ronald O"Hern of Sioux City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Volz of Indianapolis, Ind.
   He was preceded in death by wife, Rose Ann "Sammy" Volz on Feb. 17, 1988; daughter, Mary Beth O'Hern; a son in infancy; and sisters, Helen Volz and Kay Scott.
   He was born on Sept. 4, 1916 in Dougherty, Iowa to William and Mary Ellen (Fitzgerald) Volz. He graduated from Mankato High School. He married Rose Ann Zimmerman on Nov. 26, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army from April 1942 to November 1945 and was stationed in Africa and Europe from May 1943 to October 1945. He was employed as an accountant for a department store until joining the National Bank of Commerce of Mankato. He was employed at Farmers and Merchants State Bank in New Ulm beginning on Oct. 1, 1948, and he became president and director in 1956. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, New Ulm Country Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Knights of Columbus, and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. He was a past member of the Lions Club and the Turner Hall. He was secretary-treasurer of New Ulm Industries and New Ulm Industries Foundation for over 20 years. He was a director of the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, president of South Central Minnesota Chapter of the American Institute of Banking, Second District councilman of the Minnesota Bankers Association. He served on the governing council of the American Bankers Association.
   Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

   Evelyn Hanson, 82, of Lake Crystal died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at Lake Crystal Health Care Center.
   Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lake Crystal with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at the Lake Crystal Mortuary, and continues one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
   She is survived by husband, Raymond Hanson of Lake Crystal; daughters, Sandra Gieseke and husband Al of Coon Rapids, Linda Link and husband Steven of Burnsville, Vicki Majewski and husband Dave of Burnsville; sons, Raymond Hanson Jr. and wife Jean of Apple Valley, Richard Hanson and wife Pat of Long Grove, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Schmidt and husband Earl of Mankato; brothers, Archie Bennett and wife Lillian of Vernon Center, Robert Bennett and wife Ruth of Lake Crystal; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   She was preceded in death by one granddaughter and two sisters.
   She was born Feb. 20, 1917 to Raymond and Goldie (Lightner) Bennett in Garden City, where she graduated from high school. She married Raymond Hanson on April 15, 1936 in Madelia. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lake Crystal.

   Marlene Stumm, 64, of Arlington and formerly of Gaylord, died Tuesday, March 16, 199, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
   Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord; and one hour before services at the church.
