   Alfred Joseph Hillesheim, 78 of Sleepy Eye died Friday, March 19, 1999 in Mankato.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. parish prayer service, and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday all at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
   He is survived by wife Genevieve of Sleepy Eye; sons and daughters-in-law Vernard and Carol of Sanborn, William and Ann, Ralph and Susie, Dennis, all of Sleepy Eye, Charles and Dee of Mankato; daughter and son-in-law Monica and LeRoy Hauth of Springfield; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters and brother-in-law Beatrice Haala of Comfrey, Donna Mae and Donald Schneider of Wisconsin; sister-in-law Rosella Hillesheim of Springfield.
   He was born Feb. 22, 1921 in Sleepy Eye to Henry and Anna (Juenemann) Hillesheim. He grew up and attended school near Sleepy Eye. He married Genevieve Huiras Feb. 4, 1947 in Leavenworth. He farmed the family farm until 1997 when he moved to Sleepy Eye. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and the Catholic Aid Association.

   Evelyn "Evie" Brown, 80, of New Ulm died Thursday, March 18, 1999 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. There will be a parish prayer service at 7p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
   She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Pat and Arnold Goblirsch of Wabasso, Kathy and Bernie Baune of St. George, Mary and Neal Johnson of New Sweden, and Margaret and Greg Barrett of rural Madelia; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Brown of New Ulm, Dennis and Mona Brown of Lakefield, Paul E. and Grace Ann Brown of North Mankato; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Adeline Wilfahrt of New Ulm, Genevieve and Joe Stejskal of North St. Paul; brothers and sisters-in-law Lou Wilfahrt of St. Paul, Cyril and Chris of Sioux Falls, S.D., Dorothy Wilfahrt of New Ulm.
   She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, in 1991; a great-grandchild; brothers Dennis, Richard, and Pat.
   She was born Dec. 11, 1918 in New Ulm to John, Jr. and Bertha (Hillesheim) Wilfahrt. She attended Holy Trinity School. She married Henry Brown Aug. 6, 1938 at the Holy Trinity Parish House. After marriage they farmed in rural Sleepy Eye. In 1944 they moved to rural New Ulm, and were farm laborers. In 1945 they moved into New Ulm. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the Christian Mothers Society, and the Cathedral Prayer Group.

   Ben William Dannheim, 50 of Lake george died Thursday, March 18, 1999 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
   Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake George with burial in the Lake Alice Township cemetery.
   Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   He is survived by wife Arla; daughter and son-in-law Shelia and Greg Hensel; son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Bonnie Dannheim, all of Lake Alice Township; four grandchildren; mother Lois Dannheim of Sleepy Eye; sisters and brothers-in-law Barb and Bob Miller of Montgomery, Judy and Frank Vogel of Underwood, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Cheri and Dan Saari of New Ulm, Betty and Vic Kotten of Albany, Brenda and Steve Kotten of Morgan; Shirley and Chuck Kotten of Sleepy Eye, kathy and Larry Kotten of Wentworth, S.D.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
   He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
   He was born July 31, 1948 in New Ulm to Benjamin and Lois Marian (Roberts) Dannheim. He attended public school in St. Peter, graduating in 1966. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam, receiving a number of medals and commendations, and was honorably discharged in 1968. He married Arla Ann Kotten Nov. 23, 1968 in Sleepy Eye. He took over the family feed delivery business following his father's death. In 1972, farmed in Lake Alice Township and ran an intensive farrow-finish hog operation until 1988. He started the Dannheim Berry Farm in 1988. He was named Jaycees Outstanding Young Farmer for Hubbard County in 1983. In 1986 he began working as a Farm Advocate for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, and was honored for his efforts on behalf of farmers by Gov. Rudy Perpich in 1987. He served as volunteer Fire Warden in Lake Alice Township from 1977 until his death; was president of the North-Central Swine Producers Association, 1981-86; served as a supervisor with the Soil and Water Conservation District 1, 1994-98; was a member of American Legion Post 212 and Disabled American Veterans; was active in Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake George, serving as Council president 1997-98.

   Elsie Margaret Newman, 86 of Springfield died Friday, March 19, 1999 at the Springfield Medical Center.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, 7:30-9 a.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and one hour prior to the service at the church.

   Freida Herbeck, 97 of Wood Lake, formerly of Redwood Falls died Friday, March 19, 1999 at the Sr. Haven Center in Canby.
   Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo followed by a 2:30 p.m. burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

    Sherman E. Kopperud, 85, formerly of Walnut Grove, died Friday, March 19, 1999 at the Valley View Health Care Center in Jordon.
   Funeral arrangements are pending with the Jacobson Funeral Home in Walnut Grove. Burial will be in the St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery near Walnut Grove.
