Payne in New Ulm died Thursday, March 25, 1999 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Eleanor Galles, 82, of Redwood Falls, died on Wednesday, March 24, 1999 at the Redwood Falls Hospital. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls with burial of the cremains in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. She is survived by two daughters; Marcia Waugh and husband Tom of El Paso, Texas, Julie Nystrom and husband John of Worthington; granddaughters Amy Waugh of Houston, Texas and Krista Nystrom of Worthington. She was preceded in death by her husband Rex in 1968. She was born on Dec. 23, 1916, in Minneapolis to John and Myrtle (Jeffers) Hiebert. She graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis in 1934. She attended the University of Minnesota graduating with an Associate of Arts degree in 1936. On October 8, 1940 she married Rex Galles in Minneapolis. They lived in New Your from 1942 until 1946 when they moved to Redwood Falls. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She belonged to the 20th Century Study Club and Women's Hospital Auxiliary. Vernard 'Vern' Domeier, 69, of 814 7th North in New Ulm died Thursday, March 25, 1999 at his home. Mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Monday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organization. Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council will pray the rosary at 6 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Domeier of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Johnson and her husband Dan of Oakdale, and Ann Bruns and her husband Tom of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Dave Domeier and his wife Cathy of Brainerd, Brian Domeier and his wife Shirley of Shreveport, La. and Steve Domeier and his wife Elizabeth of Oakdale; 12 grandchildren; sister, Delores Haas of New Ulm; brother and sister-in-law, Edwin A. Domeier and his wife Esther of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by brothers Clarence and Melvin Domeier. He was born on Feb. 25, 1930 in Sigel Township, Brown County to Edward and Barbara (Rubey) Domeier. He graduated from the Holy Trinity High School in 1947. He married Margaret Pagel on May 20, 1950 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. They lived in New Ulm. From January 1951 until the spring of 1952 he was in the Army National Guard stationed in Fort Rucker, Ala. After returning to New Ulm he operated Vernie's Grocery until 1963 when he took over the Domeier's Liquor until 1987. After selling the liquor store he drove bus for the New Ulm Bus Lines and the Lake Crystal Coaches until November 1998. He was very active in the New Ulm Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. He was a member of Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm America Legion Post 132 and its Drill Team, St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council. He served on the State Board of the Minnesota Liquor Dealer's Association. Todd Lord, 40, of rural Redwood Falls died Wednesday, March 24, 1999 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Redwood Falls Armory with burial in the Morton City Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Sunday one hour prior to the service at the Redwood Falls Armory. He is survived by his wife, Lieah; daughters, Brandy and Whitney of Redwood Falls; mother, Irene Lord of Redwood Falls, brother Steven Lord and wife Elaine of Apple Valley; sister Lezlee Harvego and husband Mikeal of Portland, Ore., and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan on July 8, 1993 and a sister,Vicki Wurscher on Nov. 27, 1990. He was born on Oct. 14, 1958 in Redwood Falls to Ivan and Irene (Kreft) Lord. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1978. On July 17, 1982 he married Lieah Nemitz at St. John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. They lived in and around Redwood County. He worked as a truck driver, heavy construction operator and most recently worked for Kevco Components of Redwood Falls. He enjoyed his family, friends and various activities outdoors. Carl A. Hanson, age 94, of Winthrop died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at Winthrop Good Samaritan Care Center. Services are 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at 2.30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and on 8 a.m. Saturday until the time o services at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Helen Hanson of Winthrop Good Samaritan Center; son, Ronald Hanson and his wife, Anne of Winthrop; daughter, Rhoda Drake and her husband, Ben of Brained; five grandchildren, Steve Hanson of Rosemount, David Drake of Doylestown, Penn. Scott Hanson of North Bend, Ore., Doug Drake of Austin, and Julie Hanson of West Palm Beach, Fla.; great-grandchildren,Brittany Hanson of Rosemount, and Emmalyse Hanson of North Bend, Ore. He was preceded in death by sister, Delpha Carson. He was born on April 28, 1904, in Winthrop to John C. and Emma (Sandquist) Hanson. He graduated from Winthrop High School. He received a B.S. degree in pharmacy from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1929. After graduation, he worked with his father at Hanson Drug in Winthrop. He married Helen Carlin on Aug. 12, 1933, in Minneapolis. He working as a pharmacist at Hanson Drug into his late 80s. They moved to Sibley Estates and later to Winthrop Good Samaritan Center. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Winthrop. He was active in the community and in several pharmacy organizations. He was a member of Winthrop Chamber of Commerce, the Winthrop Ambulance Crew, Winthrop Development Cooperation and he served on the board of directors for the Building and Loan. He was the owner of Hanson Drug in Winthrop. He was instrumental in building of the Winthrop Care Center and Winthrop Golf Course. He was honored by the Winthrop School alumni Association in 1997 for his contributions to the community and he received the WCCO Good Neighbor Award. Ross Kujas, 39, of Brownton, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at his home in Collins Township. Services are 2 p.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton in the church cemetery. Dobratz-Hantge Chapel, Hutchinson, handled arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Laura Kujas of Brownton; parents, Reuben and Leone Kujas of Brownton; sisters, Konnie Bartels and husband Jim of New Ulm; brother, Wayne Kujas and wife Suzi of Brownton; father-in-law, Larry Matheny and wife Karen of West St. Paul; mother-in-law, Lavonne Matheny of Brownton; sister-in-law, Lisa Matheny of St. Cloud; brother-in-law, Lance Matheny of Brownton; nieces and nephews. He was born Aug. 5, 1959, in Glencoe to Reuben and Leone (Wilhelm) Kujas. He graduated from Brownton High School. He married Laura Matheny on Aug. 27, 1988, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Penn Township. They lived in Collins Township on the family farm. He worked at Ag Systems, Hutchinson; the Brownton Ag Center; and he farmed. Russell 'Rusty' Coulter, 85, of Lamberton, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lamberton, with burial in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Wanda. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton, and continues one hour before services Monday at the church. A complete obituary will be published in Saturday's edition. Marcelyn Price, 73, of Wabasso, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at her home. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Wabasso, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the church; and continues one hour before the services Monday. Sunset Funeral Home of Wabasso is handling arrangements.
