Arrangements are pending with Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia. Loren Buker, 73, longtime resident of Steele County and formerly of Waseca County, died Saturday, March 27, 1999 at the Owatonna Hospital. Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, 1301 Lincoln Avenue, Owatonna, with burial in Woodville Cemetery, Waseca. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Michaelson Funeral Home, 1930 Austin Road, Owatonna; and continues one hour before service at church. Survivors include his wife Genevieve Buker, rural Medford; daughters, Diane Krienke of Mankato, Debra Knish, Waseca; sons, Steven and his wife Renee Buker of Waseca, Ronald and his wife Marlene Buker of Madison Lake, Dennis and his wife Kathy Buker of Albert Lea, Gary Buker of Janesville, and Rickey Buker of Waseca; stepdaughter, Berniece and her husband Don Ollendick of Cresco, lowa; stepson, James Hruska, Cresco, Iowa; brothers, Iver of Waseca, Duane of Waseca; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 13 stepgrandchildren, nine stepgreat-grandchildren, and other relatives. He was born July 8, 1925 in Waseca to Edwin Leonard and Hulda Alma (Rosenthal) Buker. He married Rachel Neubauer on JuIy 15, 1947 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waseca, and they divorced in 1973. He married Genevieve Ann (Hyke) Hruska on Sept. 27, 1975 at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. He farmed in Waseca and Steele counties. He also worked at The Waseca Journal, Owatonna Tool Company, and Farmstead Foods Processing plant in Albert Lea. He was a member of the Owatonna Eagle's Club and past member of the Moose Lodge in Faribault. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna.
