   Edward Carlson, 85, of Hector, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Palmyra Covenant Church in rural Hector with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and continues one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday.
   He is survived by his wife, Tillie Carlson of Hector; children Barb Carlson of Hector, Rich and wife Angie Carlson of Hector, Ron and wife Kathy of Shakopee, daughter-in-law, Lori Carlson of Hector; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Vivian Carlson of Staples, Elmer Carlson of Olivia; William and Linnea Carlson of Hector; sister, Ruth Blad of Hector; sister-in-law, Vivian Carlson, of Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center and many nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; one son in infancy; son, Bruce Carlson; brother, David Carlson; and sister Florence Gustafson.
   He was born Aug. 16, 1914, to Emil and Esther (Ryberg) Carlson in Palmyra Township, Renville County. He married Tillie Victoria Ahl on June 28, 1939 at the Palmyra Covenant Church parsonage. They farmed in Palmyra Township. In 1975, the couple retired and moved in to Hector.
   He was a member of Palmyra Covenant Church where he served on the council, ushered and was a High League counselor.
