   Alice C. Zins, 84, of Nicollet died Friday, March 31, 2000, at the Grandview Good Samaritan Care Center in St. Peter.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet, with burial in the church cemetery, Nicollet Township.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, Nicollet and one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home.
   She is survived by daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly and Gordon Anderson of Green Valley, Ariz., and Sharon Giefer of Cannon Falls; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Pearl Betzing of Nicollet, Alice Giefer of New Ulm, and Mary Giefer of River Falls, Wis.; and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George J. Zins on June 14, 1984; five brothers; three sisters; a daughter Joanne Berens; and a son-in-law, Gene Giefer.
   She was born Nov. 11, 1915 in Brighton Township, Nicollet County, to Leonard and Lucy (Karpen) Giefer. She graduated from Nicollet High School. She continued her education at the Eitel Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. She worked as a registered nurse at the Nicollet Hospital in Nicollet from 1947 to 1953. After the closing of the hospital she continued to work with Dr. Larson at the Lake Benton Medical Clinic in Lake Benton until 1959. She married George J. Zins on May 21, 1959, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet. She was a past member of the National Council of Catholic Women, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women, and the Ladies Prayer Group, all of Nicollet.

   George Heinitz, 92, of Mountain Lake, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Spirit Lake, Iowa.
   Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mountain Lake, with burial in the city cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Eifert Funeral Home, Mountain Lake, and one hour prior to services at the church.
   He is survived by his wife Emma; son Robert and wife Phyllis of Windom; daughter-in-law Rosemary of Mankato; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
   He was preceded in death by son Richard; six brothers; and two sisters.
   He was born Feb. 7, 1908 in Mountain Lake, to David and Anna (Sokolofsky) Heinitz. He attended Mountain Lake parochial and public schools. He marred Emma Behrends on Oct. 7, 1934 in Mountain Lake. They lived in Mountain Lake, where he was self-employed. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mountain Lake.

   Agnes Martinka, 87, of Mankato, died Friday, March 31, 2000 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
   Services are 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
   Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary, with a 5 p.m. prayer service, and will continue one hour before services at the church Monday.
   Memorials may be given to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, or the donor's choice.
   She is survived by grandchildren, Kevin Kelly of Farmington, and Megan Kelly of Houston, Texas; stepchildren, Bob Martinka and wife Diane of Chanhassen, Sister Agnes Martinka of Minneapolis, and Jerry Martinka and wife Phyllis of Mankato; son-in-law Dennis Kelly of St. Paul; brother Eugene Kernan of Mason City, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Rudy Christiansen and Herb Martinka; daughter Kay Kelly; sister Ellen; and brothers, Harlan, Roscoe, and Frank.
   She was born May 21, 1912 in Superior, Wisc., to Eugene and Anna Kernan. She graduated from high school in Superior. She married Rudy Christiansen. She married Herb Martinka in 1952. They lived in New Ulm until the 1970s, when they moved to Mankato. She worked in a variety of jobs in Superior, New Ulm and Mankato. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
