Leora Clausen, 82, of St. James, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at St. James Health Services Hospital. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, St. James, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, St. James. Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. She is survived by special friend Sylvester Weiss of St. James; daughters, Darla and husband Gerald Kriesch of Howard Lake, and Mary and husband Curtis Olson of St. James; sons, Lynn and wife Sandie of Indianapolis, and Kelly and wife Trudy of Carmel, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Rosella and husband Kerry Clark of Milford, Iowa, and Avis Shoemaker of California; brother, Gaylord and wife Vera Martin of Yucca Valley, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Lyle; daughter, LaVee; parents; brothers, Verle, Glenn, Amos and Arnold; and sisters, Lula and Mabel. She was born Dec. 6, 1917, in Terrill, Iowa, to Marion and Ella (Ashbaugh) Martin. She attended school in Terrill. She married Chester Clausen in February 1938 in Milbank, S.D. They moved to St. James in 1956. She worked at Tony Downs Foods for 25 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Ray Davis, 92, of Cosmos, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Cosmos Healthcare Center. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Cosmos, with burial in the Cosmos Community Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home, Cosmos. He is survived by daughter, Kay Sieg and husband Wilbert of St. James; sons, Richard of Stanley, Wis., Jim and wife Bette of Cosmos, Robert and wife Arlys of Hutchinson, and Gary of Cosmos; daughter-in-law Marlene of Lewisville; 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Malady of Windom, and Phyllis Bendnorz of Maplewood. He was preceded in death by his parents; spouses; son, Donald; one daughter-in-law; one great-granddaughter; and four brothers. He was born July 12, 1907, in Carrol, Iowa, to Burt and Catherine (Letze) Davis. He married Margaret Malady on Jan. 2, 1933, in Windom. She died March 24, 1979. They farmed at Jeffers and Bingham Lake before moving to Lewisville in 1945, when they operated a Tilney farm. In 1959, they moved to their farm in Cosmos. He married Kate Lietzau on Nov. 26, 1983. She died Sept. 14, 1990. Melvin Dammen, 84, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at Tracy Nursing Home. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Walnut Grove. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Jacobsen Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, and will continue at the church one hour prior to services. He is survived by his wife, Ivadell; sons, Dennis and wife Blanche of Winona, and Dallas and wife Gail of Marshall; six grandchildren; and sister Gladys McGuire of Sanborn. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Cora Beatty and Edna Schultz; and brother Ervin. He was born Sept. 18, 1915, in Ann Township, Cottonwood County, to Gilbert and Betsy (Steen) Dammen. He attended country school. He farmed with his brother and father. He married Ivadell Raveling on June 20, 1938, in Lamberton. The couple farmed south of Revere until 1945 when they moved to Murray County, where they farmed until 1988. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Lena Oetting, 95, of New Ulm, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at New Ulm Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm. Donald RiceMADELIA -- Donald O. Rice, 90, of Madelia, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Madelia, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Madelia. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Grace Warner, 65, died Saturday, April 1, 2000 at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia. Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Madelia, with burial in the City Cemetery, Minnesota lake. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. She is survived by her husband, Lyle; daughters, Alice Hannegrefs of Dunnell, and Jeanice Possin of Wells; stepson, Gary Warner and wife Julie of South Haven; stepdaughter, Connie Rasmussen and husband Stan of Madelia; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Delores Pofahl of Oregon, Arlene Siglowski of Wells, and Arnetta Beyer of Milwaukee; brothers, Victor Beyer of Minnesota Lake and Bernard Beyer and wife Rita of Glencoe. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters Evelyn Becker and Bernadine Possin. She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Minnesota Lake, to Alfons and Anne (Schuster) Beyer. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1952. She married Charles C. Possin on April 8, 1953. They lived in the Waldorf area and later moved to the Waseca-New Richland area. She worked for several years at E.F. Johnson Company, Waseca, and later at Herters, Waseca. They were later divorced. She married Lyle Warner on May 17, 1980, in New Richland. They farmed in rural Madelia until retiring in 1997. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Madelia. Kelly Mueller, 26, of Watertown, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at home. Services are 11 a.m. today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Watertown, with burial in the city cemetery. Among the survivors are his parents, Roger and Millie Mueller of Watertown; and his aunt Marilyn and husband Arlon Schmid of New Ulm. He was born May 13, 1973 in Mankato.
