   Emma Anderson , 100 of Belview, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Parkview Home in Belview.
    Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview with burial in the Belview Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and continues Thursday one hour prior to services at the church. T here will be a prayer service Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
   She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Alton and Lois Anderson of Inver Grove Heights and Tyrone, N.M.; daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Vernon Pederson of Hastins, Doris and Eldred Rockman of Luverne; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and sister, Bertha Hanks of Parkview Home, Belview.
   She was preceded in death by parents; husbnad, Edward; grandson, Dale Pederson; brothers, Edwin, Albert; and sisters, Anna Hirsch, Martha Gauthun, Ellen Monson, Ida Hagen and Evelyn Turner.
   She was born Nov. 11, 1899, in Kintire Township, Redwood County, to Andrew M. and Eline Rake (Rachie) Monson. She graduated from Belview High School in 1917. She taught in rural schools in North Dakota. On Nov. 12, 1921, she married Edward 0. Anderson in Belview. They farmed in Vesta Township until Edward' s death on June 11, 1984. She moved to Belview in 1986. She belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church until it merged with the Grace Lutheran Church. Her church activities included Ladies Aid, teaching Sunday School, and belonging to circles. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Vesta and Belview, and she held several offices. She received a 75-year membership plaque from the Legion Auxiliary on Feb. 12, 1997. She was a 4-H leader and was active in Extension Club and the Vesta Museum.

   Violet 'Vi' Knudsen, 85, of 305 S. Franklin in New Ulm, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Divine Providence Home in Sleepy Eye.
   Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at United Church of Christ in New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery.
    Visitation is 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at United Church of Christ in New Ulm. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.
   She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Knudsen Besse of New Ulm; granddaughters, Carli Besse Lindemann and her husband Jeff of New Ulm, and Heather Besse of St. Paul.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur Morton Knudsen on Dec. 16, 1989; sister, Minnie Wolf; and brothers, Richard and George Nicholls.
   She was born on March 18, 1915 in Rochester, N.Y, to Richard and Minnie (Downy) Nicholls. She attended school in Rochester, N.Y. She screened letters to the servicemen for the United States government during World War II. She worked for the office at Price Administration and as a telephone operator. She married Wilbur Morton Knudsen on Dec. 16, 1946 at Raytown, Mo. They lived on a farm in Lee's Summit, Mo., until 1990, when she moved to New Ulm. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in New Ulm.

   Henry Wacker, 88, formerly of New Ulm died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
   Services are 12 noon Thursday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
   Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and continues 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
   He is survived by his wife, Erma Wacker of Sleepy Eye; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Sheldon Pearse of Hanska; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sherri Wacker of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Wendt of Rhinelander, Wis., and Della Hopman of Fairfax.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a son; a daughter; a grandson;four brothers; and three sisters.
   He was born July 12, 1911, in rural St. James to Henry Sr. and Marie (Hebel) Wacker. He attended school in rural St. James. In the early 1930s he was in the Civil Conservation Corps Camp (CCC Camp)for several years, working in the Two Harbors area. On June 10, 1937, he married Erma Hamann at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. They farmed north of Fairfax until moving to a farm near Courtland. In the early 1980s they retired from farming and moved to New Ulm. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the building committee in the early years of the church.

   Bernard Scherer, 65, of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, April, 8, 2000, at Rochester Methodist Hospital.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial and full military honors in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
   He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Dave DeLaughter of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Sandy and Mike Kollmann of Courtland, Patsy and Kurt Kramin of Renville, Sharon and Kurt Larson of Hanska, Doreen and Steve Tyler of Sleepy Eye, and Linda Bassett of Hinckley; son, James of Milwaukee, Wis.; stepsons, Todd and Geri Dreier of Waconia, Scott and Joan Dreier of Apple Valley, and Jeff and Marlene Dreier of Elbow Lake; 22 grandchildren; sisters, Mary and husband George Lux of Sleepy Eye, and Erna Scherer of Sleepy Eye; and sister-in-law, Cecilia Scherer of Sleepy Eye.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma; grandson, Zachary; granddaughter Miranda; and brother, Leo.
   He was born Aug. 8, 1934, in Sleepy Eye, to Joseph and Stephanie (Schulgel) Scherer. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1951. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict from Feb. 24, 1954 until Feb. 23, 1957. He married Emma Jones on June 11, 1956, in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Eden Township, rural Sleepy Eye. He worked for Standard Oil, Farm Bureau Insurance, and was an owner of the Evan Cafe and Bernie and Gale's Upholstery. He married Lois Walling on Oct. 18, 1996, in Redwood Falls. He retired from farming in 1998. He was a ditch inspector for Brown County. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye Lions, Sleepy Eye Golf Club, VFW, and he served on the Sleepy Eye School Board.

   Mabel Perne, 91, of Hector, died Saturday, April 8, 2000 at Glencoe Area Health Center.
   Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hector, with burial in the city cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector, and continues one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.
   She is survived by daughters, Joanne Perne of Hopkins, and Barbara Smith and husband Andy of Chaska; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, John Rice of Willmar; sisters, Orma Pederson of Hector, Bertha Pederson of Hector, and Cora Woll of Cokato; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Rice; husband, Joseph; daughter, Delores Johnson and husband Kermit; grandchildren, Gary and Karen Johnson; sisters, Ida Rice and Elsie Anderson; and brothers, Leonard, Hebert, and Ernest.
   She was born Dec. 17, 1908, in Melville Township, Renville County, to John H. and Emma (Neubauer) Rice. She attended rural school. She married Joseph Frank Perne on Oct. 5, 1944, in Hector. They moved to California for a short time, and then returned to Hector to care of her father. She did house cleaning and worked for Green Giant. She moved to Glencoe Area Health Center Long Term Care in February 1999.

   Audrey Krueger, 80, of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital, Mankato.
   Private family services will be Friday, with burial in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
   She is survived by her husband, Frederick; sons, Frederick and wife Linda of CleElum, Wash., and Harold of Sleepy Eye; two grandsons; and three great-grandsons.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts and uncles.
   She was born Nov. 23, 1919, in Minneapolis, to Ernest F. and Blanche (Abrahamson) Roesner. She married Frederick A. Krueger on Oct. 26, 1938, in Lafayette. The couple lived in Sleepy Eye. She was bookkeeper at Krueger Electric for 40 years.

   Maxine Kelly, 84, of Lamberton, died Monday, March 10, 2000, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
   Arrangements are being handled by Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton.
   She is survived by her children, JoAnn and husband Harley Weaver of Babbitt, Clair and wife Vivian of Lucan, and Mark of Walnut Grove; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Theao and wife Dorothy Yancy of Dover, Del.; and sisters-in-law, Delores Yancy of Rosemount, Fran Yancy of Des Moines, Viola Kelly of Fairmont. Lucille Kelly and Violet Kelly of Bemidji.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; brothers, Lester and Wilbur; sons, Clayton and James; and grandson Tim.
   She was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Ellsworth, Iowa, to John and Jessie (Lakin) Yancy. She attended school in Ellsworth, later moving to Trimont, where she graduated from high school in 1935. She married Clyde "Tom" Kelly on Feb. 6, 1937, in Estherville, Iowa, where they lived for a short time before moving to Fairmont. They later moved to Bemidji, where they lived until returning to the Dunnell area after World War II. In 1954, they moved to Truman, where they farmed until moving to a farm near Walnut Grove in 1965. She moved to the Grove Apartments in Walnut Grove in April 1990. She worked as a cook at Lakeview Nursing Home, Fairmont; Chalet Club, Marshall; and Mediterranean Club, Tracy. In April 1992, she moved to Valley View Nursing Home, Lamberton. She was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.

   Phyllis Klennert, 63, of Brownton, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Fairview University Medical Center, Minneapolis.
   Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Brownton, with burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Hector.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church, and will continue Wednesday one hour prior to services.
